Day 51 - We are ready to go racin...

.......... Hello, We are all packed up to go to Los Vegas race. I am so excited. We went to another rummage sale this morning. Mel got a light for his shed. This afternoon he worked to get the back of the camper anchored. That is hard to do. Getting a long spiral post in this rock ground. I spent another 2 hrs and 10 min. with the printer tech. What a deal that was. The first hour went so well. I even thought it was done. Then I asked him if I would need the cable again being is wireless. He came back saying, "wireless? Is your printer wireless? Is your laptop wireless?" I said yes to all. Then he said he would have to do something more. He could not make it work. He figured I needed a new card. Then we were cut off. I really think he hung up because he didn't know what to do. Well, I have a printer as long as I plug it in. I guess that's ok but then why did I buy a wireless??????? I will someday call again when I have 2 hrs to waste. This evening we went out for a catfish supper. mmmm so good. Then I packed for our weekend.
We are leaving about 7:30 tomorrow morning. We are going to meet friends for lunch then check out the track to see where we are suppose to go on Sunday.
I will probably have computer withdrawal as I am not taking it along. So good bye until Monday. I will wave to you from the race track. Looking at the grandstand from the track we will sit in the Earnhardt grandstand, to the right of the start/finish line. Way up in the 73 row.
Good night and God Bless

..........................The picture is for Aidan and Trey. A mountain near here looks like a Star Wars character. Can you guess who it is?

Day 50 - cool today, Only 81 degrees ;-)

.............................Howdy, I hope no one had any problems with the bad weather today. Sure didn't sound good.
We went to town again this morning and Mel got stuff for the tie downs on the camper.
It is required here to anchor the camper when left here so the wind don't take it away. This afternoon we went to a rummage sale. We got a couple things. Nothing important. Going to another in the morning. I am still looking for a juicer. You would think with all the fruit trees around that every store would have a juicer but they don't. We got one little one at a rummage sale but still looking for a full sized one. Tonight we went to the Gospel Jam. What beautiful music.

The pictures of our "AZ room" and front yard. None of them have been edited so I hope they will look ok.

Good night and God Bless

Day 49 - wash and paint day

Hello everyone, Kind of windy today but was nice. I finally got to the laundry. Glad to have that done again for a while. I met our neighbor in there and we had a nice visit. After lunch I painted the steps Mel rebuilt. He put carpet on it and it looks nice. We also found a little frig and got that home and filled. It is outside and filled with our drinks. Now I have room in the inside frig. Tonight Trey and I went threw all our mail at home. That took a while as we hadn't done that for a while since he was in the hospital. He is feeling good now.
Now I am watching American Idol. Mel requested more salsa so that will be a tomorrow job. Good night & God Bless

Day 48 - Nice and warm

Hi, We had another great weather day. It got to about 92 today!!!
I planned to do laundry but decided it was a little to warm in there. I will go in the cooler morning. We went to Quartzsite and got supplies for Mel to anchor the shed. I enjoyed a music jam in the Club House this afternoon. Anyone from the park who plays an instrument or sings has the stage. There was about 18 musicians playing for the singers. Lots of Guitars plus accordions, sax, spoons, piano, violin. Mostly country music. Thursday nights is Gospel Jam. Love the music at both. Some of the singers are really good. We had a spaghetti supper at a truck stop near here. The menu said spaghetti and meat sauce but I only found 1 marble size piece of meat. I gave it to Molly! Good night and God Bless

Day 47 - 90 degrees

.....................................Hi, It did get warm today. I love it!! Just wish I had a swimming pool. This morning I went to a beading class. Very interesting but I am a slow learner. We started a bracelet. I only got about a third done. I hope I don't forget how to do it before I can finish it. This afternoon I had to pay some bills... (yes, they still come even if we are in AZ) We just enjoyed the sunshine the rest of the day.
There was a pretty sunset. Good night & God Bless

Day 46 - Race day

Hello, We met the gal that will be taking care of little Molly while we at the
Los Vegas races next weekend. I think Molly will like it there. (I hope) We had lunch about 12 miles up the road from us. Home again and enjoyed the nice day. Mel got the blue rope lights strung under the awning. Looks pretty cool tonight. We have several solar lights in the flower pots so there is lights all over now.
Then the race started. In CA this week. Mark Martin looked good but his engine blew at the last part of the race. He will win next week when we are there!!!!!!! ;-) Had a nice phone call from Terri. Tom solved my problem with the hotel conformation that I couldn't print out. He faxed it to me.
It is suppose to be in the high 80's tomorrow. I will blow some warm air east.
Good night and God Bless

Day 45 - Just a day

Believe it or not we stayed home alllll day! Mel fixed the steps and I waisted my time talking to a computer tech. I have a wireless printer that I have never used. Now I have a need for it and I got lost trying to hook it up. So I called the tech. 2 hrs later and it still isn't working. I guess I need a USB cord. I don't have one. I haven't seen a computer store anyplace around here so I had to order one. When I get it I have to call the tech again. I hope it won't take another 2 hrs. The hotel we are staying at when we go to the Los Vegas race next weekend emailed our conformation. I have to bring a copy of that with to get our room. I couldn't find anyone here to print it for me. If I had thought faster I could have had someone at home print and send it to me. Maybe I still will.
Watching the Grand National race right now. Cup race tomorrow afternoon.
We are going to meet Molly's puppy sitter tomorrow. Will leave her while we are at the races next weekend.
Good night, God Bless

Day 44 - shopping

Hi everyone. We had a hummingbird at our feeder this morning. cool.....
We found a couple more rummage sales this morning and then went to Quartzsite flea market. Mel dropped me off and I looked around for 2 hrs. I got some moccocins. Lot of the venders have left already so there isn't many there. They are going early this year. I am ready for bed so will say good night & God Bless.

Day 43 - 78 degrees :-)

Oh what a beautiful day!!!! The weather was just perfect.

There were park wide rummage/craft sales here and at a park across the road. We looked around all morning. I got some earrings and a couple of baskets for flowers and a wind spinner. I also got a red hat for my Red Hatters outings at home. Mel got some jacks for under the camper. We met a couple from Byron. Hagen I think was their name. Does anyone know them? This afternoon we just hung out at our camper. I watered my plants and visited with folks as they came by. We grilled steaks for supper. Seen hummingbirds so just had to get a feeder. I got that ready and hung out. I hope the hummers find it.
Trey came home from the hospital and doing ok.
Good night and God Bless

Day 42 - beautiful sunny day

Hello, We almost have our place in order. We laid the lawn carpet and put the awning out. The chairs and patio table is set up. Flowers and ornaments are put out. The skirting is done with the pretty blocks around to hold it up.
We went to Blythe and got a few supplies and groceries. We had lunch at the Sizzler. After I got groceries put away I went to my hair cut appointment. I gave Mel his hair cut this morning. Molly can't get in for 2 more weeks.
Tonight I made hotel reservations for the NASCAR race weekend. I found a pretty good deal online so I hope it is as nice as the pictures.
Trey hasn't been released from the hospital yet. Hopefully he can go home tomorrow.
Park wide rummage and craft sale tomorrow. :-)
Good night and God Bless

Day 41 - moving day

We made it. Packed up, unhooked everything and moved to a new site. unpacked and
rehooked water and sewer. Boy are we tired. We are now in the back of the park. Much better than where we were. Nobody behind us now. The pictures show what we saw out our windows in the old site and the new one. Tomorrow we will fix up the yard again. Also hope to get a hair cut.
Our good friend, A.G. Wilson, stopped in for a visit. He is trucking to California.
Soon he and Audrey will be here in their RV. (hurry up!!!)
I watched American Idol tonight. Voted for Danny.
Trey is doing just fine after his gull bladder surgery.
Good night and God Bless

Trey....

I didn't say what surgery Trey is having and after getting several phone calls and emails I thought I better let you know. He is scheduled for gull bladder surgery this afternoon. Thanks for asking...
See ya tonight.

Day 40 - cold and cloudy

Hello everyone,
We have found a new site in the same park with a nice view. We will probably be moving by the weekend. We have to pack up & move the camper to a license bureau to get inspected and licensed anyway so we might as well move to a better lot. Just change our address to Lot 49, the rest is the same. I do like it were we are as there isn't much traffic but all we see out of our big windows are other campers and sheds. And we have one of the smaller lots. The move will let us see the mountains.
We bought a used shed and that was delivered this morning. I guess we should have waited a couple of days. Now it will have to be moved again.
It is raining right now. It is suppose to warm up by Thursday. High 70's. I hope that's right. It is so funny to me that it has rained so much since we got here as they told us it doesn't ever rain here. It is like there is an umbrella over this park, they said. Ya...right!!!
I did laundry again today. Then we had a great supper. I found T Bone steaks on sale. Oh were they good.
I am wishing I was home right now as Trey is having surgery tomorrow. My prayers are with him and his surgeons.
Good night and God Bless

Day 39 - Race day

It was a cloudy day but nice. After church we went out to lunch. There is a nice little restaurant about a mile from here that we enjoyed after church the last couple of weeks but they are closing for the season. I don't know why so early.
We will miss it. We still have the open air place here at our park. I don't think they are open on Sundays though.
Then it was race time. It was a good one except it got rained out so was done early. Mark Martin could have won if that didn't happen ! So good to have the races back on Sunday afternoons.
I made a bowl of salsa using a mix and fresh tomatoes and onions. Wasn't to bad but Mel didn't think it was hot enough.
We just had popcorn so now can think of bedtime.

Good night and God Bless

Saturday, February 14, 2009

Day 38 - nice day

This morning we went to a craft show in a RV park a few miles from here.
It was fun. I got a necklace and earings made from a nickle. Also got a yard ornament made out of pop cans. kind of a windmill. We stopped at a little truckstop for lunch. Then home. Mel washed the pickup and I actually sat out in my new chase lounge and read. It was so nice out today. We had supper outside too. But it cools down real fast so came in right after.
Tomorrow is a BIG day. The start of NASCAR racing season. The Daytona 500.
Goooooooo Mark Martin. #5
Good night & God Bless

Day 37 - Just a ride

Hello friends,
We slept in this morning. Still tired from our big trip. I went to Bible Study and Mel & Molly went for a ride. This afternoon we went to Quartzsite flea market to check on a new mattress but they didn't have the right size. Our mattress is really bad. We will have to keep looking. We haven't shopped to much at the Flea Market yet. Planning to go next week. We ate out at Kathy's for supper. This is an outdoor cafe at our park so we got pretty cold by the time we finished.
That's about it for today. Tomorrow we are going to a craft show at a neighboring park. Not sure what to expect but should be fun.
Good night and God Bless.

Page 2 - Day 36

I don't understand why this blog won't print how I place it. Pictures got mixed up and never any paragraphs. I don't write it this way!!!

We had supper at yet another unknown casino. As we were leaving we noticed a big sign - NASCAR tickets. Oh yes!!! We are now going to the Los Vegas race on March 1. I am so excited.
we spent the night at John and Betty's. We left early the next morning and headed for Boulder City NV. We seen Lake Mead & toured Hoover Dam. Pretty awesome.
Next stop was Lake Havasu City AZ and seen the London Bridge. From there we went to friends in Big River CA. They have 2 little doggies so Molly got to be with friends too. We went out for dinner with them and then on home.

I could never put in words God's beauty. We traveled Hwy 93 from Kingman AZ south and the mountains and river and even the dessert was just overwhelming.

I am going to add a few pictures and I hope you can pick out which one is what.

Today was pretty quiet. This evening we enjoyed a Gospel Jam at our RV park.
There sure are a lot of good musicians and singers here.

Enough for this time.
Good night and God Bless

Day 33 - Rain rain go away!

Hi, I decided it was a good day to stay in. It rained and rained and blew and blew all day. Gusts of 37 mph
We had a great idea. We rehooked the satalite to the main TV (Mel's TV) and put the park's cable on my tv. Now I can watch 24 and my other favorite shows including the Daytona race on Sunday.
Mel found some wooden steps for the camper. They were for sale just down the street. Much easier to use then the camper steps.
I made a crock pot beef stew for supper.
MN is only 8 degrees colder than we are. hmmmmm??????
Tomorrow we are going to Henderson, NV (near Las Vegas)to visit a friend and to see the Hoover Dam and on the way back will see the London Bridge in Lake Havasu City, AZ. and visit another friend Big River, CA. So I might not be writing for a couple of days. We will be back in time for the race. :-)
God Bless.

Our AZ room

/><

Day 32 - no rain but cool.

Hello, Welcome to AZ. It was a good day today. We went to church at the club house here in the park. Different but nice. After church we went to the Black Rock Cafe for lunch. They had a baked chicken buffet. Home for the rest of the day. We put our table together and put up some rope lights in our "AZ room". Now it has to warm up so we can enjoy it. I hope the pictures show you want we have.
Mel figured out a way to get the races on TV too. We can disconnect the satalite and use the camps cable. Where there's a will there's a way!!
My favorite driver, Mark Martin, got a sure place in the Daytona 500. :-)
I lost a filling from a tooth yesterday. It doesn't hurt but I hope it will be ok until we get home again.
See you tomorrow..... God Bless

Day 31 - Daytona racing in on!!!

Hello, You will have to forgive my mood tonight as it has been a bad day.
It has been raining all day. Hard too. I didn't know it rained like this in the desert. So we didn't get to enjoy our outside room or put the table together or take pictures.
Worse yet is that I have been so excited that NASCAR racing started today. Been so looking forward to it. We watched the pre-race on the Speed channel then it was time. I changed the channel to where I thought it was on - FOX. But it was the local Fox channel that we don't get on this dumb King Dome thing we paid so much for. I was sooooooo mad!!!! and disapointed. So we will miss all of the Nascar races while we are gone. grrrrrrrrrrrr...
But my good ol computer lets me follow it plus listen to it via radio.
I did laundry this morning. I made cornbeef and cabbage for supper. Not much else got done except for grumbling.
Good night and God Bless
See you in church tomorrow. :-)

Day 30 - (already!)

We worked hard today... fun work. We laid the carpet and got it nailed down. Mel tightened up the awning with straps to the ground. I guess most everything has to be tied down if left here. We will have to anchor the camper too before we go. Of course we won't leave the awning down when we do leave. We also put a sun screen up at the end. Now we have a little room outside.

We got the new table so that will be our job tomorrow. Putting that together.
I will take more pictures after we get the table up.

Good night and God Bless

Day 29 - Windy

Hi, It has been really windy here today. Our awning is just a squeaking.
I washed rugs and bedding today. The laundry room worked just fine. I brought the rugs back to the camper and hung them over the lawn chairs. Then took the bedding down. I hung the bedspread on the cloths line and the sheets in the dryer. The big spread dried just as fast as the sheets. When I got back to the camper the rugs were almost dry too. This dry air and the little wind this afternoon sure was good for that. We went to Quartzsite and found a lawn carpet. Could only find green though. I am not fond of green!! Maybe it will seem like grass!! We will put it down tomorrow. We had supper at the Black Rock Cafe, just down the road from us. Mel had chicken and I had a shrimp basket. It was good.

Good night & God Bless

Day 28 - Moving day

Hi there,

We got moved. We are now in a place called Brenda AZ. Not a town but a RV community. We spend all afternoon getting packed up, traveling, and unpacking and hooking up. We put down our awning for the first time. Mel put up the sun screen netting and now we have a little outside room. I do need more flowers though. I don't know if I will be able to use the sheppards hook for flower baskets as the ground is as hard as rock. Mel even bent a spike nail trying to anker the net. But he got the job done. I think we will like it here. Tomorrow we will look for an out door carpet. No grass here so need something on the ground. I will take some pictures too. It is much warmer here as we don't have the river to cool it off. I love it hot.
Good night and God Bless

Day 27 - Just around Blythe

...............................Hi there,

It stayed pretty chilly this morning but this afternoon was great. About 78 or so.
We went for a short ride in this area. Just enjoying the scenery.
We did a bit of shopping and found the picnic table we want. small square with a glass top, umbrella, 4 padded chairs. Then the grocery store and got quite a bit there. Should last us for a couple of weeks.
We move tomorrow so will see you in AZ tomorrow night.
I see the cold is back at home so I am sending some flowers so you can think spring.
They are from my garden last summer.

Good night and God Bless....

Day 26 - photo problems

Hello, Come on in.

I thought I better get some pictures off my camera card so went to find a place to edit and copy to CD. They were so different then those at home and I had quite the time getting the job done. Then to find out that I couldn't edit them if I didn't print the pictures. So they are all on a CD but not looking good. I will have to do that job at home I guess. Not even sure if they got them all on the CD. I know some of the pictures from yesterday didn't get copied.

We have been trying to find a table for outside. You would think there would be all kinds of them around here but not much to pick from. Not even the Wal Mart in Yuma. There is several at 500 & $600 but nothing cheap.

I spent the morning doing truck business again. I will be so glad when that job is done. Is about nothing serious but frustrating.

I did a bit of shopping at the dollar store. I got some new dish cloths & a couple of small serving bowls. Then we went out for supper.

Home and relaxed. I missed my show again tonight. "24". I hope to find out why we can't get some channels on this dish we got. Another job for me when we get moved. I hope they sell the series on CD later.

Good night & God Bless

Day 25 - Ride to Yuma

.
.
.

.
.
.
.......Big guns at the Yuma Proving Grounds

Mel locked me up then went drinkin...so I had him locked up................. in the old cell block .

Howdy,
We had a fun day. We went to Yuma (about 100 miles south) via the back roads. I thought we were lost but I should know Mel never gets lost!! It was a beautiful trip. Lots of mountains and desert and produce fields. Molly found a little lizard or Camellia..(what ever its called) at one of her stops.

WE visited an old Territory prison built in the 1800's. So interesting. We spent about 3 hrs there.
There was a museum and the actual cells were there. We could go in the "Dark cell" where some were put in for extreme discipline. No light at all. Inside the cave was a 5 foot high cell box that one or more were kept in. Pretty creepy. They said it was kept very clean... Cleaned at least once every 3 months. Lots of history there.

The Arizona Market was next (flea market). Mel and Molly went for a ride and just dropped me off there. I only had an hour before they closed so had to hurry. I had so much fun spending my Christmas gift cards. I got a great chase lounge, some lawn ornaments, and flower baskets... artificial but really pretty. All to decorate our new yard.

We were going to visit some friends but found out they were watching the Super bowl so we stopped at a Wal Mart instead. I got 2 sheppard hooks for my flower baskets.

Headed for home from there. Going by the Yuma Proving Grounds we stopped to check out the big guns at the entry.

We only had a hot dog since breakfast so stopped at a fast food in Quartzsite and wished we didn't. I think they gave us yesterdays burgers.
We were all happy to get back to the camper.

Good night and God Bless
