Day 31...Another beautiful day

I wish I had my camera along tonight. The picture is of a jam a few weeks ago. But the same place. We went to the Desert Gold Gospel Jam. It was the "awesomest" awesome Jam I have ever went to. I repeat.... Who needs Branson when we can have this. There was 28 musicians including guitars of all kinds, accordions, keyboard, piano, bass fiddle, violins, trumpet, clarinet, cello, harps, harmonicas, drums. The singers were exceptionally good. I wish every one of you could hear them.

Most of the day we just sat and enjoyed the weather. I made a chicken supper with home made french fries.

Molly got another bath. She sure don't like baths... poor little girl.

Good night and God Bless.

Day 30...Lazy day

It was a beautiful day today. Sunny 76 degrees.

Mel met Shannon this morning and went with him to get tires for his camper. I slept in and just sat around.

This afternoon was about the same. We mostly sat out on the deck and read.
A couple of neighbors stopped in. Verona and Ginny came over too.

Mel started the grill and we had T-Bones for supper. I washed the dishes and now more sitting. Nice eh?

Molly is on the deck right now watching for lizards... I haven't heard her get hyper so must not see any ...yet.

Good night hugs and Gods Blessings

Day 29...Another busy day

Hello my friends,

I didn't get any pictures today.

This morning we enjoyed a ham and egg breakfast at the clubhouse. On to church and then home for a while. After lunch we went to our parks music jam. Tonight we met Shannon(Mel's nephew) and Chris at Silly Al's Pizza in Quartzsite.

Thats about it. I hope all is well with you. Thanks for stopping over.

Nite nite hugs and Gods Blessings.

Day 28....Family here

We enjoyed a concert with Robin Arnold with Shannon & Chris. Gin and Verona was there too.

I went with Priggies to the craft show in Brenda Park. It was fun to look but we didn't buy anything. Later Mel and I went back to Brenda Park for burgers and root beer floats.

We had to get gas again. On the way back we stopped at the auction in a tent. Didn't stay long and didn't buy anything there either.

At home I finally got the rest of the flowers planted. Kind of disappointed that I can't have them in the garden. The rabbits ate every single part of the ones I did have there. I do have a hanging basket and a couple of cactus. Not sure what I will do with the extra space. The new plantings went in front on the table thing.

Shannon & Chris came later in the afternoon. We had a nice visit and then went our to Dos Amigo's for supper. Got back just in time to go to the Robin Arnold concert at our clubhouse. Back home and sat out on the deck a while and then they headed back to their camper in Quartzsite.

Good night hugs & God Bless

Day 27...We passed !

Don't dance here......ha!! This sign was on the wall at the Senior Center where we took our Food service test. I had to chuckle !!

We took our Food Service test this morning and passed with flying colors. In fact I got 100%. Now we can at least help wipe off tables or something simple after a meal at the clubhouse. I don't think we want to do any cooking. After the test we had lunch there. They served spaghetti today.

We looked around one little corner of Quartzsite. Didn't find anything we wanted.
These vendors offered mostly "junk". We hope to find another area we haven't been before another day. Stopped at a jewelry store. Oh yes, I got a few things. I really needed some new earrings and rings. :-)

Dos Amigo's got us for supper. All the fish you can eat. We were there a couple weeks ago and didn't care for the fish then but decided to try again. I guess they had some complaints so they went back to the same kind of fish they used last year. It is sooooo good.

Big day tomorrow... craft show, company coming, & a concert with Robin Arnold at night.

Good night hugs & Gods Blessings

Day 26..Ride in the desert

It was a beautiful day today. It was in the 70's. We didn't do much this morning. We heard about a rummage sale down the road and decided about noon to go.

Stopped to see if Verona, Cliff, & Gin wanted to go. They were ready to eat lunch so we got to enjoy a BLT with them. Then on our way.

The sale wasn't anything we wanted. Well lots of things but way to much money. We decided to go for a ride instead. We headed for Salome and then Mel took us on a gravel road threw the desert. It was so pretty. 15 miles of gravel road. Only had one problem. No camera!! I took these with my cell phone.

We got home and had some supper then off the Gospel Jam in Brenda RV Park.

Before I could post the pictures on here I had to figure out how to get the pictures from my cell. Oh ya...... Mackenzie showed me how a while ago.

So good night and God Bless

Day 25...Shopping

Molly is looking for lizard's...

Our new chairs..

I had this all wrote out but when I published it my wireless was disconnected and
it all went away. So I will try to write it over again. grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

We went to Quartzsite and Blythe CA today. We want to get certified to help out in the club house when needed. We have to take a food service test. We went to the Senior Center in Quartzsite to see when they do it. Friday at 10:30. So we will go back then. They offered lunch of swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, mixed veggies, & cake for only $3. It was really good. We went on to the grocery tent but the traffic was so bad we couldn't get close to it. Quartzsite is as busy as the state fair this time of year. On to Blythe.

I got some soil at the garden center and a new bougainvillea..a purple one. Now I can finish planting what I got last week. Oh, and the 3 pots I had in my garden got ate by our 'pet' rabbit. The stinker. I guess I won't have flowers on the ground anymore.

Looked and found a recliner for Mel to sleep - I mean sit in. It was fun to make it fit in the car. The bottom went in the trunk (kinda) and the back went in the back seat. We got the glider from a neighbor.

Groceries next. I only had a few things on the list, BUT...we ended up with a cart full. The car is already full of chair. Mel said the groceries won't fit but they did.

We got home just in time to get the groceries in and the meat put away and get to the soup supper at the clubhouse with 2 min. to spare.

Home again and got the old chairs out and the new ones in. A neighbor wanted one of the old chairs and the other one is on the deck for now. Then other neighbor friends had to come over to check out what we got.

We get little lizards that run around in the garden on the side of our house at night. Molly spotted one and now she wants out on the deck all the time to see them. I don't know how she sees them as I never can. She tries to get under the deck rail but her chubby little body only lets her go so far. (picture above) So funny!!!

Our nephew Shannon and his wife Chris will be here sometime this weekend. Can't wait to see them.

We got our weekly pack of mail so went threw all that. Thanks Jen for sending.

That's it for today. Good night hugs & God Bless

Day 24.. Computer techs & Elvis

Finally.... I am able to get our sock hop pictures on here. Our "special" guest was awesome...but funny. He didn't really sing but moved with Jailhouse Rock !
The other picture is the dance floor.... It was fun.

Today held a couple strange happenings. Mel's computer wasn't working right on his company program so I called the computer tech about 10 am. First a guy worked with me but couldn't fix it. Then a gal helped... She asked for a lunch break at noon.
She called me back about 1:30. Still nothing worked. 3:00 she said her manager will call me and see what he could do. 4:00 he calls.... Nothing. He felt bad and said he could do no more. We were ready to send him the computer. Their office is in Rockford IL. We said our good buys. I did a couple of things on the computer and finally shut it down. Later Mel used it again and guess what. It worked. I can't believe it yet.

This morning Mel went to help out a neighbor. Then wiped the due off the car. When he came in he realized one of his hearing aids was gone. So off we go to hunt for it in the gravel. Back and forth we went saying prayers as I went. To the neighbors up the street...around the car, in the house. Nothing. Then I looked at the towel he used on the car. He hung it on the deck rail to dry. I looked on the ground below it an there it was. How lucky are we. Prayers answered again.

After supper we went to the Gospel Jam in Desert Gold Park. Like my friend Jackie said... Who needs Branson when we have this.

We got a lot of needed rain last night and the wind was back today. Not as bad as Sat night but still to windy to be outside. Tomorrow will be better.

Good night hugs, God Bless.

Day 23...rain & cool

It is midnight and my computer just now decided to work. But I am to tired to write. It has been a cold and rainy day. I didn't go anyplace other than in front of the computer that just didn't want to work. I had things to do so I kept trying. I could do one thing and it wouldn't move again. reboot and do one more thing.....

I hope tomorrow is warmer. No plans anyway.

Nite nite..... God Bless

Day 22...Fun weekend.

My computer still isn't working. The pictures won't upload. I will try again
tomorrow. I so wanted to show you the guest star at our sock hop. Sorry

******************************

Wow...what a busy weekend. We enjoyed the company of friends and classmate, Jackie and Don. They arrived on Friday afternoon. Verona and Ginny made supper for all of us.

Sat morning Verona and Gin had us over again for breakfast. Peach French toast. It was sooo good. After breakfast Mel and I, Jackie and Don went for a short ride. Showing them Quartzsite and the area RV parks. I had pork, beef and potatoes in the crock pot and we all met at our place for lunch. All 7 of us.

The afternoon took us to a music jam at Desert Gold. It was really good and we all enjoyed it. For supper we went out to eat at the Kofa restaurant. Jackie and Don's treat.

We had fun at the sock hop in our clubhouse for the evening. We all danced and had a really good time. The special guest was so funny.

Sunday morning we had breakfast of french toast and sausage at the club house and then on to church. Pastor Rick introduced the 4 of us girls as Pine Island class mates.

Home again and Jackie & Don packed up to go home. (Green Valley..south of Tuscon) But first we were invited again to Verona and Ginnys ham dinner. We all said our good byes and then on to the music jam at our park.

Uffda.. I am so tired. But still lots to do... The wind storm we had yesterday left a big layer of sand and dust on the deck and everything on it. Mel and I vacuumed and washed everything out there. My flower baskets don't look so good either. I hope they perk up again. We had left overs for supper and after I washed the dishes I haven't done anything.

No plans for tomorrow. I hope we can just stay home.

So good night hugs and Gods Blessings.

Day 21... Fun day

It has been a long fun filled day. My computer isn't working right and I am to tired to figure it out so come back tomorrow and I will let you know about our big day.

Very VERY VERY windy today. Lots of dust on our deck.

Good night and God Bless...

Day 20...Company here

This morning Mel and I made a quick trip to the Quartzsite grocery store. Got a few things includine some snacks to take to the Sock Hop tomorrow night.

Our friends, Jackie and Don arrived from Green Valley AZ (near Tuscon) this afternoon. They live in Rochester for 6 months and here for 6 months. Jackie is a school friend.

We spent the afternoon visiting and showing them around the park and then went to Priggies for a wonderful supper and more visiting.

Tomorrow will be a busy day...

Good night hugs and God Bless

Day 19...crafts and rummage

Some hills by the Parker Dam

Believe it or not I was up at 6:30 this morning. I figured at the least I would see the sunrise. But it wasn't any big deal. No pinks or reds across the sky.
Maybe I should have stayed in bed longer. But no, can't do that if we were going to be at a rummage sale at 8.

Desert Gold had park wide rummage sales and a craft show in the club house. I found several things with the Southwest theme that I will put on that shelf that still isn't up. A vase, a birch canoe, an antler pipe, a picture of the desert, an Indian rattle, a rain stick. (I think the rattle and rain stick is used as musical instruments - maybe) But hey, I didn't buy any jewelry !!! Mel got a hat and a holster for his black powder gun. Molly just got a ride.

Back home and did some cleaning and laundry. Company coming tomorrow.

So good night hugs and God Bless

Day 18...No carpet shampooed

The beautiful Saguaro cactus.....

It has been a frustrating day. I hired someone to shampoo our carpet. I found his card on the bulletin board in our park. I asked him to come on Tuesday but he requested Wed at 10:00 am. This morning Mel and I emptied the living of furniture and any other stuff laying around. 10:00 came and went, so did 11 & 12...and 4,5, & 6. Not even a phone call. I called him and left a message 4 times. So no clean carpet for our company this weekend. I hope this guy comes tomorrow as we won't be home !!!

Soup night at the club house. They served green chili soup. It was ok I guess.
But chili just isn't my favorite.

Tomorrow we are going to a craft show in Desert Gold RV park...maybe a couple of rummage sales too. Check in tomorrow and see if I got anything.

Hugs and God Bless

Day 17...Telephones & Jams

This is our next house in the desert (I wish)... So pretty and it even has my yellow Chev. pickup !!

I spent most of the afternoon on the phone dealing with Verizon and a couple other places. I had a lot of questions for Verizon. Can I get my unlimited min.on my modem back? NO. Why did I pay $15 dollars for text messages when I signed up for 250 for $5? I guess they never had this offer. I got a text message a couple months ago with this offer. Verizon said they would never text an offer like that or any other offer. I was scammed !!! I checked on minimum amount for texts and got the 1000 for $10, Still cheaper than what I paid last month. Then she came back and said because of the scam they were going to give me 500 per month FREE for one year. How about that. Good old Verizon. Another business took another hour to get answers and then 2 more to talk too. My ear was burning!!!

I was comforted with an invite to a beef stew supper at Verona and Cliffs. And was it good. Thanks girls.

Mel went shopping for his salad fixings consisting of lots of raw veggies.

Tonight we went to the Gospel Jam at Desert Gold park. It was really good. Our two favorites weren't there tonight but it was still good.

I hope the weather isn't causing problems for anyone. Stay safe.

Good night hugs... God Bless

Day 16...Ladies luncheon

Howdy,

About 50 women from Wagons West had lunch at Silly Al's pizza in Quartzsite.
I got to meet a few new gals. It was a fun time and goooood pizza too.

Verona, Cliff, Ginny, Mel & I looked around town a bit. Got a few things at Gem World, a bead place, and also checked out a couple other stores. Home for supper and then Mel and I was off to a music jam in Hope. A little RV town a few miles from here.

I did some laundry this morning (I love my washer and dryer!!!)

That's about all for the day. I am very tired so guess it must be bedtime.

Good night hugs & God's Blessings

Day 15...Busy day

If your wondering how my day count jumped to 15... I didn't start my blog when we first got here but I wanted the number to match the whole time here.
Get it? hope so.

Some of the statues we seen along the way...

Still cool out...in the 60's. We even had 5 drops of rain today!!!

It has been a busy day. We had breakfast of biscuits and gravy at the clubhouse this morning, Church at the "Little Church in the Desert", Home for lunch and then to the music jam at our clubhouse. Home again. I gave Molly a bath and then Planted flowers but ran out of soil. I can't plant in the ground... to hard and rocky anyway. I just have a bunch of pots. We went out for supper then to Black Rock park for another music jam.

There were so many excellent singers tonight. Some I haven't heard before.

A humming bird visited our feeder today. We have LOTS of Finches, sparrows and doves. We have to fill the feeders daily.

Wow... Cottage Farms flowers on QVC. I want them all.
So with that thought... good night

Hugs and God Bless

Day 6...I hit the jackpot at a rummage sale!!!

I am so happy that I got to this rummage sale. Wouldn't you be??? ;-) It isn't Brad but Elvis will work !

Today was the chili cook off.... Mel got 4th again. He had fun and had the hottest chili there. If he had 4 more votes he would have had 1st. Dixie's juice made it so good, Mel said.

It was a little warmer today. 70 degrees.

That's about it for today.
Hugs & Gods Blessings

Day 5... Chili

Hello every one,

Tomorrow is the chili cookoff at the club house. Mel cooked all morning to get his chili so spicy hot that it made my eyes water. Oh no....not having any of that. It was just the spicy-heat in the air that made my eyes water. Keep your fingers crossed that he places this year. Top 3 gets a couple of dollers and the title. He got 4th last year and 3ed the year before.

This afternoon I went with the girls (Verona & Ginny) to an auction . Cliff was there too. I got a couple of things that should look nice on the new shelf if we ever get it up.

I am upset with my computer air card. I had one with unlimited time and they talked me into a 5G saying that is a lot of time and I should have no problems. Well with still 2 weeks to go I am over 3/4 filled. I am using Mels computer tonight. Thats why I can't put any pictures on.

So will say good night... Hugs & God Bless

Day 4... Cold out there.

Hello,
Aren't these burros cute? They are wild and came right up to our car. Molly didn't think much of them.

It was cold out today. Not much action around the park. I think everyone stayed inside. It was only a cold 60 degrees.

We had Verona, Cliff, & Ginny over for a chicken supper. I hope they liked it.

After supper we went to the Brenda RV Park's Gospel Jam. It is always sooooo good.
The jams last about 2 hrs with a 20 min. lunch break. I could listen much longer.

That's about it for the day.

Everyone stay safe. I hear the roads are bad at home.

Hugs & Gods Blessings

Day 3...flower day

Hello everyone,

The guys in the picture are Mel and Shannon (our nephew) at Chris and Shannon's place. The other pictures were taken in New Mexico but I can't remember where...sorry. Pretty though.

Mel made beef jerky & put in the dehydrator this morning. After the park meeting at the clubhouse we went back home and the jerky was done. It is pretty good stuff.

This afternoon we went to Blythe CA. A quick stop in Kmart. Only found 2 of the 5items we wanted but then we got 3 things that wasn't on the list. On to ACE hardware & their garden shop. Oh yes, I am in heaven. But first things first, Mel said. We needed a couple things from the store. This included a shelving kit so I can have a place for knick knacks. It will go in the new bedroom. About 6 foot long. Also got Bird seed (I have all kinds of finchs)& new rope lights for the deck. Finally back to the garden center.

They didn't have many varieties in yet but enough for me to have fun. Tomorrow I get to plant. Mostly petunias and pansies.

It was grocery shopping from there. Mel entered the chili cookoff again this year so he filled the cart with everything that said "hot" or "spicy". Oh my goodness, I will never sample his chili this year. The contest is on Sat. afternoon.

Cool and a little windy today.

Good night hugs & Gods Blessings

Day 2...I walked !!

Pictures of the snow we seen on the way down... In New Mexico!! Snow is suppose to be in Minnesota not NM. The little puppy is Shannons...our nephew.

It was a pretty quiet day. I did a bit of cleaning and I took a walk. Yes, I walked up to Verona & Ginnys who lives at least 2 blocks away. :-)
I hope I can get my self to do that more often.

We went to a little hamburger stand and had a Stevie Burger for supper. I should have taken a picture of it......next time.

Tonight we went to the Gospel Jam in Desert Gold RV Park. Besides the usual band and singers, a family of 8 sang and played instruments. Awesome.

Tomorrow we are going to Blythe for groceries and a few flowers.

It was only 67 degrees today but was nice in the sunshine.

Good night hugs, God Bless!

Happy New Year

Hello everyone,

We are back to our little house in the desert.

We have been busy every day doing something. So far today I have been home but Mel decided to go into Quartzsite. Might be a tool there he hasn't got yet. He loves his tools like I like my jewelry.

I forgot how to make paragraphs so until I check with Terri this will just be like this.

Our trip went well. No weather problems at all. Not even a rain drop. We visited Shannon on the way but didn't get to see Cris. They have a new little puppy that Molly enjoyed playing with.

We got to Brenda on Friday night (30th) Mel hooked up the lights and water and everything else waited until morning. We enjoyed the New Years Eve party at the club house on Sat. night.

The rest of the week included unpacking & unpacking & unpacking. The temps were in the 70's with no wind and total sunshine. We went to a couple of music jams, a quick trip to Blythe CA for groceries, a visit to Quartzsite and a couple of meals out. I cleaned out my flower bed and anxious to get flowers.

Our friends from home, Ginny Herrick & Cliff and Verona Priggie, are here also. So nice to have friends close by.

Several folks here are building decks and extra rooms. I am so glad ours is done. We have been looking for a new recliner but they are so expensive here. Just have to keep looking.

We made a trip to Parker AZ (about 50 miles away) to look at chairs but just had to enjoy the scenery.

Mel made some jerky and I dried some bananas. Pretty good stuff.

Enough info for the first time...... Always enjoy your emails or Face Book comments.

Take care and God Bless
