We are home...

Happy Easter friends and family

I am using Mel's computer as mine just isn't working. I can get to my Blog but it won't let me write anything. I just wanted to finish up with my winter writings.

We got home Wed about supper time. The trip was pretty uneventful. The weather was good as well as the roads. Our motel rooms were acceptable. We met Northfield friends, Mary and Jerry Taylor, a couple times. They were going home too.

Molly was a good girl the whole trip as long as we brought out a bite of what we had to eat. :-) She was good all winter. Mel took her for a lot of walks in the desert but it didn't seem to help her weight any. (mine either)

We unpacked some of the car and then went to the Pit Stop for supper. Seen Russ and his family and Tom. Sure missed them.

Thursday we unpacked more of the car and I started putting stuff away. Got groceries in the afternoon so cupboards are full again.
Trey and the kids came over and had supper with us. We visited until Church time.

We didn't get to see Terri and her family as they were either working or school. Being Easter week they are very busy with church work.

Mel has been working on getting the big truck out of the ice. It is pretty nice out today so maybe it will melt enough to keep the tires from spinning. He hopes to go to work next week. The trailer is in a snow bank as well. He said we should have stayed in AZ another couple of weeks. no no no no no.....

Back to hanging up some more cloths. Good Friday service tonight.

This will be the last blog until we leave again next January.

Thank you for following our stay in Brenda AZ. Maybe you can come for a visit next year.

Happy Easter everyone. A big hug to all and God Bless

Day 85...Wichita

Hi everyone,

We made it to Wichita KS today. We are so tired from sitting in the car all day. Even Molly. Molly has been so good. She mostly sleeps other then when she tells us to get to a rest area. But when we get to the motel she wants to play. and she barks when playing so the poor little girl has to just settle down some more.

We found out friends Jerry and Mary from Northfield were also on their way home from AZ. We met them for coffee this morning. They took a different road so we parted again.

Starting to see some snow here and there. Cold and windy today too.

Home tomorrow night.....sooo happy.

Good night hugs and God Bless

Day 84...On our way home

Hello,

We are in Santa Rosa, NM. The weather is wonderful although a bit cooler than Brenda. Had to wear light coats today. The scenery is awesome. Only God can do that. Hills, valleys, rock formations, snow capped mountains. Big bright moon. If only I could get the pictures on here.

We didn't leave quit as early as planned but not to bad, We thought we were ready last night but found so many things to take care of this morning. We left at 8 and then We stopped for breakfast at the Kofa and then on we went.

We drove over 630 miles. Hope we can go as far tomorrow. Should be home Wed night.

So good night hugs and God Bless

Day 83...Ready to go !

Good evening,

The problem with the time change is I keep checking for words from home and forgetting most are in bed. We are 2 hours earlier than home.

We are so ready to leave. Going out of the park at 7 am. Now praying for good weather.

After church we went home to have our final lunch here then we visited friends and got visits from friends to say good bye. Inbetween we finished our packing and cleaning.

I scrubbed the floor and vacuumed. Emptied the frig and thawed it out. (no self defrost here) Washed the dishes and cleaned the sinks and coffee pot. Mel got the last of the stuff in the car.

We met AG & Audrey for supper in Quartzsite. Went a little early so I could get some more beads that Judy recamended. (Still forgot one kind). But what I did get made us late meeting Wilsons. (Sorry!)

We had a good meal. I had Chicken Fried Steak and Mel had pork.

Thinking back about the critters we seen. There isn't many I guess. A road runner, a lizard, some quail, some cows, and just heard about 3 snakes. (So glad I didn't see them) Didn't see or hear any Coyotes.
Wish there had been more. The desert is starting to bloom now. Yellow daisy type bushes all along the highways.
Cactus is blooming here and there. Not the big Sagiaros though. My cactus here has a bud but I won't get to see it.

Our friend and former neighbor here ,Bev, lost her little doggie today. Bev had a tea cup poodle. So sad.

I have a new computer and a new weed eater waiting for me when we got home. From what I here I won't be using the weed eater for a while.

So guess I better get some sleep. I will try to blog from our motel along the way but if I miss a day don't worry.

I think I am just babbling so good night hugs and God Bless. See you real soon.

Day 82... Leaving earlier

Hello friends and family,

I am so excited. We are leaving Monday morning instead of Tuesday. We only have the deck stuff to put away and some final cleaning. The frig, floors and window covers. Might still find some odds and ends but I hope not many as the car is full. Only room left for Molly in the back seat.

This morning we went to yard sales in Brenda Park. Got a few things. Mostly some beads.
Home and packed. Washed cloths and packed, brought yard ornaments in and packed.

Friends came and got my flowers. I hope they enjoy then for a while. They won't last long when the temps rise.

We went to a music jam for an hour. Mels back was sore from all the carring and packing he has done so we came home after an hour and he rested for a while.

We grilled chicken wings and shrimp on the grill for supper. Now just hamberger left in the frig.
Good thing we will be going out for supper tomorrow.

So keep the sun shinning. we are coming home.

Good night hugs and God Bless

PS... Thanks Dixie J. for the updates on Brad's (Elvis ETA)contest. Wish I was there.

Day 81...3 more days and gone !

Good evening.

The weather is perfect here. Nice and warm with a little breeze.

More packing. Mel has the car half full. With a heaping pile on the spare bed to put in yet. He is a good packer so I am sure he will get it all in.

I got my necklace lesson today. Thanks to Judy. I just hope I can remember how to do it. I wore the one I made tonight. :-)

We met the Wilsons at Dos Amigos for our final Cod supper. It is soooooooo good. I hope to find a place at home that offers all you can eat Atlantic Cod. I know I will miss it. Said our good byes to the owners and our favorite waitress, Gege

We are going to a park wide yard sale early in the morning. A neighbor hood party behind us tomorrow afternoon. This will give us a chance to say good bye to everyone. From there more packing.

So good night hugs and God Bless everyone.

Day 80...Uffda, a long time!

Hello my friends,

How is MinneSNOWda? Oh, I sure hope it is getting better.

Pretty nice here. Never looked at the temp but I am thinking about 85..

The stew we made last night sure smelled good this morning. I and 2 friends, Alice and Mary, went to a craft show at Desert Gold. Mel said he would have lunch ready for me when I got back.. ha! It was almost ready when I left.

The Craft show was the same old things. Didn't have what I wanted. I bought a new sleve pin. Different then the ones I have been making. I am hoping I can make some of this kind.

After lunch we got a few more things packed up. Mel picked up the carpet grass we had out front. He tied down the deck roof and filled the water jugs. We set them all over inside to keep moisture in during the hot hot summer.
I got all the paper stuff I need to take home packed. Washed a load of cloths.

We went to Quartzsite later and picked up a few things. Then met our friends Betty and Roger for supper. They are from Utah. Good eating and good company.

We picked up some milk and headed back to Branda. The very last Gospel jam for us this season. So many have left so a small crowd and a small band. but I sure enjoyed it. AG and Audrey joined us there.

Home again. Molly had to stay home as it is just to hot to stay in the car. She thought for sure we left her for good... Silly girl.

Three days left and so much to do yet. Lots of packing and 3 more dinners out with friends. Church on Palm Sunday and a race to watch. I still want to get a lesson on making a necklace. Maybe tomorrow for that.
I pray the weather will allow us to go home on Tuesday.

Good night hugs and God's Blessings to everyone.

Day 79...Kind of warm !

Hi there,

Hardly left the house today. Packed a few things. Went to the post office. Stopped at Alices with a cactis book.

It was really warm today. 91 I think it was. Still pretty warm out.

Molly got a comb out and a bath. I was hoping to wait with the bath until the day before we left but she was soooo dirty.

We are trying to empty the frig and freezer so we made a crock pot stew. We will have it for lunch tomorrow. Not to much left. Hamberger and chicken wings is all.
Good thing we are going out to eat a lot. We finished off the steaks tonight with scalloped potatoes & mixed veggies.

I guess I better shut the door. Got a big moth in here.......
.......it is gone.

I hope this sends now as I don't have a very good signal. Ony two bars in 2G. Suppose to have 4G.

I found homes for my flowers when we leave. They are just getting big and pretty.
Just glad I won't have to throw them in the garbage.

Watching American Idol. I still don't have a favorite. They are singing Bettles songs tonight. I bet they can't do Elvis!!

Good night hugs and God Bless.

Day 78...One more week !

Good evening,

I can't believe the weather at home. My goodness! I seen pictures of some accidents near home. I hope you all are safe.

Mel is kind of leary to leave yet. This worries me. I so want to go home but I sure don't want to travel in bad weather. We will see what happens.

I didn't get much packing done today. We had company for a while this afternoon.
Bev, used to be our neighbor, and her companion Frank stopped in. Then I went to Alice's to check out her quilt. She just got it back from having it quilted. Just beautiful !!

I am trying to tell myself not to fear BUT.... a big bull snake is living near us.
Friend Betty has a 5 foot Bull snake under their house. Oh uffda !! They tell me the bull snakes won't hurt you but....

Wilsons joined us for a taco supper at Dos Amigos. I will miss those taco's with home made shells. From there we went to our final Gospil jam at Desert Gold. The jam was so good tonight. Lots of band members and singers.

No plans for tomarrow. Maybe will get some packing done.

82 degrees today. So nice.

Stop that snow !! Mel jokingly said that we might have to hire the first lawn mowing done if we don't get home soon. (don't listen to him Speed)

Good night hugs and God Bless

Day 77...Packing

Hello my friends,

Is the snow gone yet?

After our walk to the desert with Molly we had some lunch and then the packing began.
I started with the heavier cloths and my shoes. Then my jewelry. I packed it all so only left out 1 set of earrings, 1 necklace, 1 bracelet, 1 ring. How will I ever deal with not having different jewelry every day?????

We went to Audrey's and AG's RV for supper. What a nice meal she had ready for us.
Fried chicken, cabbage salad, fresh corn, potatoes and gravy and a lemon bar for desert. Oh so good. I got to see the beautiful quilts she is making for their 7 yes 7 new grand and great grand babies coming soon. Can you imagine a family gathering with 7 new babies?

We then went to the town of Hope to a music jam. That jam is always a big one. It took 3 hours to give everyone a chance to sing.

Still kind of warm in the house. I think it was 86 or so outside today. 69 now and 76 in the house. No covers needed tonight.

Good night hugs and God Bless

Day 76.. Oh Watta day !

Hello everyone,

It was a very busy day. Church this morning. Home as fast as we dared and turned the race on.

The race was half over already but I sure enjoyed the rest of it. My favorite driver wasn't there today but at least my least favorite didn't win !

Audrey and AG joined us for the Saint Pattys dinner. Corned beef and cabbage, potatoes, nummy carrots, Irish Soda bread, and pudding.

After dinner we had a good visit on our deck. The weather was good. Only in the 80's and a light breeze. Audrey and I made up some snacks to take to the dance but they didn't want to go with us. They missed a lot of fun. ;-)

We did have a good time. We even danced ! I even did a couple of line dances. Brave eh?

Tomarrow and the rest of the week will be so busy. Lots of last min things we want to do yet plus the start of packing for home.

I think I better get to bed.

Good night hugs and God Bless

Day 75...A do nothing day

Hello,

We had another hot day. But only 90 today. ;-)

It sure was a do nothing day. We did go for gas and got an ice cream bar too.

This afternoon Mel napped. I read, crochet, painted and washed dishes...

We grilled chicken wings for supper. The fridge is getting emptyier. Only a week left to get it all ate up.

Oh, I almost forgot..... I ordered a new computer today. I hope I got the right one. Will be delivered on April 4th. I hope someone can help me transfer stuff from one computer to another.

Good night hugs, God Bless

Day 74... Beautiful sunshine

Good evening,

It was another "hot" day. Not as high as yesterday though. About 90 or 92. It will be about the same tomorrow. I heard more ice at home. Uffda!!

It was our final dance class this morning. Some brought some snacks for after. Now to dance this summer so I don't forget how !!!

Just pitzed this afternoon. A little painting on a lawn ornament, a little reading, planted a cactus, a little computing and changed the fish water.

We met AG and Audrey at Dos Amigos for Friday fish. Ohhhhhhh sooooo good. Atlantic cod. After we got our fill of the cod we sat outside at their tables and had a good visit.

This evening I watched "Touch" on TV and painted another color on the lawn ornament.

I think I will have a piece of pie and go to bed early.

Good night hugs and God Bless

Day 73... Someone turned the heat up!!

Hello to all who is in snow banks and others who are not.

Golly, it was a hot one today. Finally got AZ weather. It was 97 ! Yes it was.
Turned on the A/C for the first time. I sat out for a few min but Molly didn't like it. Mel did too and got a bit burnt.

I put a roast in the crockpot along with some potatoes and other veggies. And of all days I made an apple pie. Thats when we turned on the A/C. AG and Audrey is coming for supper.

The afternoon was pretty uneventful. Our friends came at 5. We ate supper then went to the Brenda music jam. Only 7 band members. Sooo many gone home already.
But it was still a very nice jam.

Back to our place and we had the apple pie, ice cream, and a good visit.

It is still pretty warm out but comfortable. We turned off the AC and opened a window. Bed time now.

nite nite hugs and God Bless

Day 72...Gifts of cacti

Welcome to AZ. The temps are finally up there. Going to be 90 tomorrow. Love it!!

I messed up with the scarf I am crocheting. Three of us gals were chatting and showing each other the stitch we use to make this scarf. I don't know what I did but mine all came apart. :-(
I had about a foot done too. So guess I have to start over. (Quit laughing !)
I think or I hope I will have a crochet teacher handy when I get home - hah Dixie?

After lunch we were going to friend and former neighbor, Bev's, to get a cactus they offered me. We got to Quartzsite when she called to ask we come a little later as she had errands to do first. So we went back to Gem World.

When I seen Judy's necklaces she made I realized I needed a few more things. Then off to Bev and Franks.

Oh my goodness, did we ever get cactus. I hope we can get them home without injury!! (injury to us not the cactus!)

We met the Wilsons at the Palo Verde restaurant in Quartzsite. Good food and good company.

It was such a beautiful day and the evening was just as nice. Mel and I....and Molly sat out on the deck for a while before the computer called me.

So good night. hugs to all. God Bless.

Day 71...Now it is Tuesday

Welcome back to this crazy blog...

It has been a day of learning. And nice and warm too. In the 80's today. :-)

I went to line dancing class this morning. I really enjoy it but I doubt that I will ever be on any dance floor. But they say we should never say never !
Mel and Molly met me at the door when I was finished.

Friend Alice came home with me to help me figure out a crochet pattern. I started this afghan maybe 10 years ago. I couldn't remember how I did it. We did get it figured out. So now I hope I work on it.

Mel and I started our gumbo soup. So many ingrediance. Spices and herbs that I never used before. Shrimp, sausage, crab, tomato, onion, garlic, celery, rice, chicken, chicken and beef broth. When it started cooking the smell wasn't good. I thought sure we would be throwing it out. But after tasting it I kind of liked it. I wish I knew what I put in it that made the unusual smell. Could it be the bay leaf? Mel liked it so guess it was good.

After cleaning up I went to the deck to work on the afghan square. Then a neighbor (Judy)came over and showed me how to make a scarf. The kind that is kind of spiral. Then I went to her house to see her jewelry she makes. She invited me to come again for a lesson on jewelry making.

Our dear Wyoming friends, AG and Audrey, finally got here. They are parked in Salome. We met at Dos Amigos for Taco night.

We stopped at home to get Molly. (To hot to leave her in the car during tacos) But she said she wanted to go with us to the Gospel Jam. ;-) Wilsons also joined us there. Not very many band members or singers left. Only ll in the band. Usually there is 25 to 35. But it was still good.

Home again... Just been watching TV and reading emails.

Did it quit snowing at home yet? We are delaying leaving for home until the 25th so the weather better change. I don't want to stay here any longer !!

So good night hugs and God Bless

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

Day 70... Pretend it is Monday

Good morning,

I don't know what happened with this old computer last night. It wouldn't let me do anything but play solitaire. I could get to the site I wanted but only a white page would show.

Yesterday we went to Blythe to see why our computer broadbands don't work. Mels totally quit and mine only works if I prop it up. So Mel got a new one and it seems to work great. He can get 4G. Mine is suppose to be but only get 3G and sometimes only 2G. My upgrade is due in May so it won't cost as much. I decided to just wait.

We got a few groceries. Just what was needed to make gumbo. Going to try it anyway.

Mel dropped me off at Gem World in Quartzsite. I got some stuff and hopefully can learn to make some necklaces. Does anyone know how so you can teach me?

Had company for supper. Alice and Kermit (MN people) came over. We had buffalo wings on the grill, corn on the cobb, and Alice brought potato salad and choc cake.
It was a good evening.

So on with my day. Dance class in a half hour so better get to getten !!
See you tonight.

Hugs and God Bless

Day 69... Sunny day

Hello there, 68 degrees and sunny.

Another snow storm at home. Golly. I want to come home but not with storms still around. Make it quit !!

Our day started with a great breakfast at the club house. Pancakes, bacon, eggs, & orange juice and coffee. Church from there. Home for a while and watched the start of the race and back to the club house for the final music jam. Lots of good singers today. Then we ate again. BBQ, potato salad, several different kinds of pickles, cheeses, raw veggies. The couple that are in charge of the music jam put on the feed. Sure was good.

Nothing more for the day. Just home. We tried to find a good recipe for seafood gumbo. Has anyone ever made it? We had some at our friends picnic yesterday. It was like a soup. The recipes I find is thick not in a soup broth. Mel thought it was the greatest.

Good show in TV...Breaking Dawn, part 1. (Twillight Saga)

God's Blessings and good night hugs

Day 68...Another pot luck

Hello my friends,

We started the day with taking Molly for a walk in the desert. She sure likes to be off the leash for a change. She never gets to far away from us. Mel takes her everyday so she knows the way there and back. She is on a leash until she gets to the gate.

I made a Denver sandwich for lunch then we went to the afternoon Jam at Desert Gold.
We never been to that one and even though very few left on stage they sure had good singers.

We had a pot luck at the clubhouse for supper. VERY few attending but we sure had a nice variety of food. I made another bowl of my mac/shrimp/crab salad and it all went.

Thats about it for today.

It was kind of chilly again. Clouded up by 6. Not sure if more rain is coming or not. Sure would like to have an AZ day that we don't have to turn the furnace on.

Good night hugs... see you in church tomarrow. God Bless

Day 67...Wind, rain, cold !

Hi there,

Hope everyone is shoveled out. That snow has to go so we can come home.!!

Did it ever rain and blow this morning. We were invited to a yard party at noon. Kind of a pot luck. Bev used to be our neighbor here but moved near Quartzsite. We got gas first and then "blew" over there. We had to be in the house most of the time.

They have a yard full of various cacti and they are going to give me some. yaaaa.
More for my cactus garden.

They furnished hotdogs, hambergers, & drinks. Some one made sea food gumbo that was so good. there was beans, potato salad, cakes, and my shrimp/pasta salad. (That was a hit by the way).

On the way home we stopped at the grocery store. I have another pot luck to make for. Tomorrow night at the club house. Sunday company coming for buffalo wings.

We went to Dos Amigos for their fish supper. It was so good but we weren't very hungry after the afternoon meal at Bev and Franks.

Ginny's funeral today. Just can't quit thinking of her.

I am watching my favorite TV show, "Touch".

So good night hugs and may God Bless all of you.

Day 66... Company

Hello,

The days are sure going fast. It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood !!

I did some cleaning as company was comin. We made a visit to our insurance lady as our AZ house insurance was due for renew. That didn't take long. We stoped and got a burrito to take home for lunch. They are sooooo big and sooooo good.

Our friend, Larry, got here about 1. He is from the Pine Island area. He and Mel had a good visit. We went to Silly Al's Pizza for supper then Larry went on his way.

It is clouding up so rain is expected. Still a nice evening. But now bedtime.

Thinking of Ginnys family tonight....

nite nite hugs & God Bless

Day 65...bonfire`

Welcome back everyone,

We had another awesome weather day. About 80. I tried to blow some your way. Hope you got it.

Watching AMerican Idol right now. Can't say I like any of them, They do have good voices but just not my kind of music.

I did some laundry and swept the floor. Wow.. really ambitious eh?

We had the Park bonfire and hot dog roast tonight. Pot luck the rest. All so good.
Seems the bonfire always happens on the hottest day.

Good night hugs and God Bless

Day 64...More taco's and jams

Hello,

Another nice but cloudy day. But I did get a little sunburn.

This morning was the gulf cart races. So fun to watch. Mostly the one where the driver is blind folded and the partner had to direct them around the track. They had a hard time knowing left from right and would go all over the place other than the path they were suppose to go. Pretty funny.

I stopped in to Alices to see the quilt she is working on. A childrens quilt with zoo animals on it.

Mel has a huge rock that he is going to paint the AZ flag on it for a lawn ornament.
This afternoon he cleaned the rock and primer painted it. Tomorrow he will do more.

It was taco night at Dos Amigo's. Always so good. Home for an hour then on to the Gospel Jam at Desert Gold. That was good too. A lot of people have gone home already so not as many playing and singing.

Tomorrow will be busy again... a visit to our house insurance agent and the park bond fire and hot dog roast.

Verona & Cliff got home this afternoon. I hope they get some rest and comfort.
Ginny's funeral is on Friday in Stewartville. Wish I could be there.

God Bless and good night hugs.

Day 63...Just a day

Hello,

Didn't do much this morning. We had a left over chili for lunch then went to town and got a few groceries. Probably the last grocerie shopping for out here. Maybe will need some bread and milk.

Again a simple supper. Just a hamburger helper hotdish. Then just on the computer and watching TV. MacGyver is on right now...

We have decided to pack for home on the 19th. Weather permitting.

How you doing in the snow storm? I hope all are well and safe.
It was 78 here.

Yesterdays race was so fun. The weather was perfect. Warm and overcast so the sun didn't beat down on us. Mels nephew was with us. After the race we had dinner together and then on home.

I got the news of Ginny right after the race so it was a quiet night from there.

We picked Molly up from her babysitter. She sure was glad to see us. I guess she didn't eat or go to the bathroom all day. She told us to never leave her again. lol

Bed time as soon as the show is over... 15 min.

God bless and good night hugs..

Day 62...Friends forever

Rest in Peace Ginny...

My dear friend Virginia (Ginny) Herrick passed away today of a heart attach.

We were close school friends since 7th grade. She wintered with her twin sister Verona and her husband Cliff here in Brenda AZ. But this year there were health issues with her family at home so she decided to go home earlier than planned to help out. Less than 2 weeks later she is gone.

We would send messages on the computer or text on the phone daily. I will miss that so. We always signed off with a hug.

So Ginny, here is your hug. A big one.

Day 61...Boogity boogity...lets go racin.!!

hello

Tomorrow is the day. We go racin !! We will meet with Mel's nephew at 10 and then on to the Phoenix race track.

It was a beautiful day again today. I never looked at the temps but must have been over 80 degrees.
We sat on the deck most of the afternoon. Friends stopped in for a while.
We made supper on the grill. burgers, foil wrapped potatoes & onions, & spicy chicken wings.

I tried to figure out directions to crochet a scarf but I guess I will need to go to someone who knows what they are doing. Sounded simple but my brain just wouldn't get it.

My very good friend,Ginny, was taken to the hospital this morning after having a heart attach. She had a stent put in and doing ok. I guess this is why God sent her home from here earlier than planned. I am praying for you Gin. I wish I was there with you.

God Bless and Hugs to all.

Day 60...Yuma trip

Hi .. Looks like it is cooling off at home again. Warming up here. It finally hit 80 today. Sooooo nice.

We said good bye to our neighbors this morning. Mel helped them hook up their pick up to their RV. We left for Yuma shortly after.

It was a nice trip. Yuma is about 90 scenic miles from here. We took a different route when we got close and was unsure we were going to get to Yuma or ending up in CA. LOL
But Mel had it right and we were soon there.

We got to see lots of fields and date farms. Planned on buying some dates but never seen a store to get any. Thinking to get a date shake on the way home but we were to full to even look for one.

We spent a couple of hours at the Flea Market. Several very long isles of venders selling everything you can think of...except dates. Mel found a beautiful ring made by a Pueblo Indian. I got a purse and 2 BIG rings. (Of course I needed them)

We met our friends at the Golden Coral. We met Pat and Leroy the first year we came to AZ. They are from MN but now full time living in their RV. Pat and I always have so much to talk about...we laugh and laugh and talk some more. To bad we only see each other once a year.

Home again about 7:30. Today was a good thing.

God Bless and good night hugs

Day 59...Mostly home

Hi everyone,

It wasn't to bad a day. About 65 and a cool wind. We sure won't be used to the 80 degree day coming on Sunday.

Mel, Molly, and I walked to the desert this morning. Yes, I walked !!! Molly sure likes being off the leash for a change. Mel takes her out almost every day so she knows her way there and back again.

I went to next door neighbors to say good bye. They leave for home in northern New Mexico tomorrow morning. Mel went to the produce tent to get some lettuce and strawberrys. Later I went to Betty's for a few min. I returned some magizines to her.

For supper we tried a new place. Mexican taco's it says in the front of the little building just down the road about 6 miles. We got each a taco and a buretto. Sure was good. We took them home and ate them. It is an eat outside restaurant and it was just a bit to chilly.

Then off we go to the Gospel Jam in Brenda Park.

Tomorrow is another big day as we are going to Yuma. Just going to goof around and then meet friends for supper.

Bedtime...

God Bless and good night hugs

Day 58... Sunny day

Howdy,

I actually took my coat off today.. for a little while anyway.

Kermit and Alice (from northern MN) joined us for a ride to Bouce and some target practice. We checked out a couple of junk stores there too but all we found was dust !!!

Back home in time for a quick shower and then on to the Clubhouse for a nice supper.
Not sure what the dish was called...something like green chili, taco, chicken hotdish. A lettice salad and refried beans on the side with cake for desert. It was different but pretty good.

Tonight I tried again to get a picture on here. Even with Terri's help it just wasn't going to go. Sorry I can't show you things around here. Thanks Terri for your help.

I haven't read the Grand Meadow shopper yet so I am going to do that now.

God Bless and good night hugs

Day 57...Taco Tuesday

Hello,

Hey, I got right in tonight. Still have problems with my email though. So If you write me just wait..I will answer sooner or later.

I worked with this computer all afternoon. Even defraged but it didn't help a bit.
I could deal with slow but when it don't happen at all then I get upset !!

We had another windy day. Not as bad as yesterday but windy. It did get to 65 degrees. I hope tomorrow it is warmer.

Did you see the full moon last night? So pretty. Big, bright, orange... We aren't so far apart after all as I see the same moon that you do. :-)

Dance class this morning. We worked on a couple different line dances.

It was taco Tuesday at Dos Amigos. Home made shells and they are so good. Home long enough to feed Molly and then off to the Gospil Jam at Desert Gold.

I will now try my email again.....and again. Maybe I can get in.

God Bless and good night hugs.

Day 56

This great computer of mine just won't let me in to the list so I can repost Day 55.

Day 56...Beef Stew ready

Hello,

I wonder what happened to yesterdays blog. I wrote a long one but not there today.
If I find it I will put in on.

We finally had a nice day. Only in the 60's but it was nice and sunny and no wind.

We headed for Quartzsite again. Mel still didn't find what he wants but I found an awesome purse. ;~) Yes, I did need one!!! If I could get pictures to work I would show it to you. Guess you will just have to come over.
We had a nice lunch at the Palo Virde restaurant to start our day and ended it with a stop at the bakery. We had apple and cherry turnovers and also got a loaf of homemade bread to go with the stew.

We made a crock pot beef stew this morning so it was waiting for us when we got home.
The bread was so good with it.

That was about it. so good night hugs and God's Blessings

Day 55... VERY windy

Welcome back.

I don't know what was wrong with this yesterday but I could not get in to write.
I could read but it wouldn't let me go to the next post. Was it the blogs falt or my computer?????

Yesterday we had a last min. thought to do some shopping in Quartzsite. But couldn't find what we wanted so had a Whopper Jr and an ice cream cone and came home.

It was Marti Gru day here in the park. There was a parade of decorated gulf carts and ATV's. Kind of fun but they went by to fast and it only lasted 5 min.
There was a dance at night, but....

We decided to go to the race at the Blythe CA race track. That was fun but not many cars so wasn't as good as other times. Friends Alice and Kermit went with us.

Today was the big Daytona 500 race. The pre race stuff started at 10 and the electricity went out. I was so upset. Then it came on again but off again...
This went on for over 2 hours. I thought sure we were missing the race. I even tried to follow it on the computer but NASCAR.com wasn't working either. Do I have the luck or what? But walla... electric came on and stayed on and the best thing is that the race had not started until that very minute. I was happy again.

The Nation Wide race yesterday had a bad bad accident. Many cars crashed and car parts flew in the crowd injuring 28 people with 11 taken to the hospital. I think all but 2 are doing ok. No drivers were hurt but the cars were sure a mess. Thank goodness there wasn't anything bad happening in todays race. Danica, the lady driver, broke all kinds of records being the 1st gal to win the pole. She came in 8th. My man, Mark Martin came in 3ed. I so wanted him to win.

We went to the Koffa restaurant for supper. Home again and turned the heat up.

The wind blew so hard all day long. My petunia baskets weren't even safe from the wind on the deck so had to bring them in. I sure wish it would warm up... I mean AZ warm.

Hoping tomorrow will be better....

It is Mel's uncle Arnold's 90th birthday today. Happy Birthday Uncle Arnold.

God Bless and good night hugs

Day 53...Fish fry

Hi there,

Well it didn't warm up much today. The sun did shine so it looked nice anyway.
I hope everyone survived the snow storms.

Only things I did today was wash my hair and wash dishes !! Only went out when
Molly wanted to go out until supper time. Then we went to Dos Amigo's for fish.

Tonight I am back on the computer and & will watch my favorite TV show..."Touch".

I think it will be an early bedtime. After we have our last pieces of pie. ;-)

God Bless and good night hugs.

Day 52,,, More races & craft shows

Hello,

I went to the craft show at Desert Gold Park this morning. My friend Verona went with me. No, I didn't buy 2 things either. I got 4 things. ;)
I needed some earrings (I really did)and found 3 cute pair. Also got what I call a 'grabber'. I can't reach my dryer filter and always had to ask Mel to do it. With this grabber stick I can do it myself. We had some coffee and headed home.

I washed a couple of loads of cloths and tried out my new grabber stick. It worked! We had some lunch and then it was race time. Duels at Daytona.
These 2 races determined the spot they would start in the big 500 on Sunday.

The race got over just in time to head to Molly's groomer. We stopped at the produce tent on the way. Molly wasn't to happy to be left there but she sure looked pretty when we picked her up again.

We had 2 hours to do something while waiting for Molly so we stopped at the grocery store and got a couple of things then to Silly Al's for pizza.
We got Molly and headed home.

We decided to go to the Brenda music jam on the way home.

It still wasn't AZ warm today. I guess it was 60 but a windy cool 60.
I hear the Minnesota weather isn't very good so guess we should be thankful.
But I am selfish and I want the warm AZ weather that we should have.

Everyone stay safe and warm. Those that aren't feeling well I am praying for you. Those that are traveling, have fun.

God Bless and good night hugs

Day 51...Brrrrrrr

Good evening,

Did it ever rain today. And wind?!! oh my did it blow. Had to have a 40 mph or more wind gust but it only lasted a couple of minutes. It was kind of scary!

By 6:00 the sky was clear and the sun was out. But it didn't warm up any. Only got to 47 today. A lot of the state had snow and in the north it was really a bad snow storm. Shannon, I hope it didn't bother your work today.

I was home all day. I made an apple pie. That was good. we had ice cream with it. Other than that I just watched the rain & did some cleaning and not much else.

But spaghetti was served for supper at the clubhouse. Sure was good...

Going to a craft show tomorrow. This will probably be the last one for me this season.
I didn't buy anything at the last one so that must mean I can get 2 things at this one. ;-)

God Bless and good night hugs

Day 50...Windy

Howdy everyone,

We were going to go Quartzsite shopping today but it got so windy we decided not to. Maybe tomorrow.

I went to dance class this morning. They worked on couples dance so I didn't do much of it. But I got a little bit of exersize.

We were home most of the rest of the day. I set my flower baskets down out of the wind. Read on the deck for a while but it got cold. Had to get our LP tank filled again. I wish it would warm up so we wouldn't need any more LP. Exciting, eh?

We went to Dos Amigo's for taco's then on to the best Gospil Jam of the season.
Golly it was so good. At Desert Gold park.

Only going to be in the low 50's tomorrow. Brrrrrr I think I will sleep in...again!! ;-)

God Bless & good night hugs.

Day 49... pretty feet..;-)

Hello,

Another day almost over. It was a really nice 76 degrees. But that "nice" will end tomorrow night as the temp will drop back down in the 50s again with lots of wind. Sounds better than home though. I will be setting my flower baskets down as the wind can be so hard on them.

My pedicure was awesome. Almost as good as the one my granddaughter gave me before we headed south. And cost almost 3 times as much. But the foot massage was worth it.

We fried chicken on the grill for supper. mmmm so good. Also had sweet corn with it.

We went to Hope,AZ for another music jam tonight. Hope is about 15 or 20 miles East of us. Just another little RV park area. Not much else. There is a gas station. The whole town is for sale if anyone is interested.

My friend Ginny and her family got home safe and sound. Now facing the cold weather instead of our 76. Sorry Gin.

That's about it for today.

God Bless and good night hugs

Day 48...Busy Sunday

Good evening,

Seems like we have been gone all day. Breakfast of biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs with a cup of fruit at the clubhouse. Home for a half hour and then head for church. More things to eat there after the service. Home and heated up some noodle soup for lunch. Then, guess what, I went with Mel and Molly for a walk in the desert. Yes, I walked !! This afternoon was the jam at our club house. There was a nice crowd there today and a good jam. And of course more to eat. cookies and raw veggies with dip. Back home for an hour and just sat for a while then off we go again....where you ask. To the Kofa restaurant to eat. I had their awesome taco salad and Mel had a big piece of ham with eggs and hash browns. Friends, Verona and Cliff joined us.

The day isn't done yet... We stopped at home and fed Molly and off to another music jam at Black Rock park. And yes, more lunch. I didn't eat anything though. Just had coffee.

Home again and I am tired.

I can't wait until tomorrow. I get a wonderful massaging pedicure. :-)

God Bless and good night hugs.

Day 47... Noodle soup & races

Greetings,

We had another nice warm day. Didn't really do anything only to enjoy the day.

We said good bye to friend Ginny. I will miss her. Glad Verona and Cliff is still here.

I made a big kettle of chicken noodle soup with dumplings. We ate on that all day.
I washed a couple loads of cloths. Watched lots of TV... the ARCA race, Race Day, and QVC with all the summer goodies and plants. Then the first race at Daytona.

The race was good but would have been better if my favorite driver didn't wreak along with 6 others early in the race. Another race on Thursday and the Big one, Daytona 500 on Sunday.

Must be up early tomorrow to go to breakfast at the clubhouse so I think I will go to bed.

I hope all is well at your house.

God Bless and big hugs

Day 46... Post office & fish

Hi there,

What a nice day we had. 70 degrees, sunshine, no wind. I hope it keeps up.
We don't have long left here so sure would enjoy some hot AZ days. I don't even have much of a tan yet.

We think we would leave for home about March 18 or 25. Mel has to get brakes put on the trailer and also has a Dr appointment for a check up. He hopes to be back to work by the second week in April.

I went to dance class this morning. I really enjoy it but still not catching on to some of the dances. One of the line dances has 12 steps to it. Another has 8 different steps. My legs allowed me to do the whole first dance but after that had to sit half way threw. I like the electric slide the best. A simple one.

Off to the post office in Quartzsite to mail the rest of our tax papers to the accountant. I won't have to deal with it like last year. Always on my mind but never got it sent in until the very last minit.

We had lunch at Sweet Darlene's and then picked up groceries to make noodle soup.

Home again and had a surprise visit from a very dear friend. Mel took a nap while we talked. One of her family is having surgery so she is going home early. I will miss her.

It was fish night at Dos Amigo's. Oh, I do love that fish !! It was pretty warm so Molly had to stay home otherwise we would have had to leave the car running to keep her cool.

Nothing much happening tonight. I had trouble again getting on line so watched a good story on TV. I finally rebooted and then it worked.

The first of the Daytona races is tomorrow night ... yaaaaaaa

God Bless and good night hugs

Day 45...Happy Valentine's Day

Hello,

Did everyone have a good day?

This morning we went to the produce tent and got a few things. They didn't have strawberries this week.

I finished the rest of the paper work for the accountant for taxes. They go in the mail tomorrow. I wonder what I forgot. So glad it is done.

I made Mel a nice steak supper, with mushrooms and onions, baked potato, corn on the cob, salad, and the final 2 pieces of the pecan pie.

We had a dance at the clubhouse tonight. I think everyone in the park attended.
It was a good band. They played mostly country with a few polkas thrown in.
They ended at 10:30, at least we thought so and left. But when we got home the music was still going. All the ladies got a long stem red rose from the gentleman who was the king last year. His wife Rose passed away last summer. So the flower was in her honor. Nice, eh?

So good night hugs to all.

I forgot to tell you that Mel gave me a gift of a pedicure for Valentine's day. I get it on Monday. So nice !!!!

God Bless

PS... I can't post any pictures for some reason. I guess this blog changed with way it works.

Day 44... soup night

Hi there,

I better not lose my letter tonight !!

It didn't freeze outside last night but got close. Today was nice. In the 60's and warming up from there for a week. yaaaaa

I gave the wrong date for the Daytona race yesterday. It is on Sunday the 24th. I knew it was Sunday but I had the date wrong. Now I can go to the Marti Gras after all here at the park. Maybe I can collect some beads... haha !!

It was a pretty quiet day. There was a clubhouse meeting this afternoon. It was "soup night" for supper. They made something that was good but I have no name for it. No meat... a flat taco shell like on the bottom. Topped with refried beans, lettuce, cheese, salsa, & sour cream. A scoop of spanish rice on the side. Mel doesn't care much for lettuce so had soup when he got home.

Our neighbor Roger tried to see if an antenna would help my computer problems but no... Only made it worse. I think the computer is just to old to except it. I am suppose to have 4G but don't. I will deal with it when I get home.

Verona & Ginny stopped in for coffee. Always good to have visitors.

That's about it so will say good night.

God Bless and hugs

Day 43...Nice day

Hello my friends,

I don't know if I should cry or have a temper tantrum. I wrote a nice blog and my computer froze up before I could post it. So I will start over.

It might freeze again tonight so this room smells of petunias. I brought the baskets in and just hope the heavy pots will be ok left outside.

As tired as I have been I planned on being in bed early but I just had to read my emails and facebook. Then my blog. I also set my team on NASCAR Challenge.

Race week in Daytona next week. I can't wait. Several small races and finally the big 500 on Sunday. (the 23ed) Can't wait.

Today we had a nice breakfast & visit with our MN friends at Sweet Darlene's restaurant. They headed home from there. Mel and I made a short tour of the junk corner of Quartzsite.
We might have found a treasure. Well, I did find some big rings. :-) Also checked out a produce where we bought some kiwi and apples. Now Mel thinks I should make an apple pie. (maybe next week !)

Home for the afternoon. Didn't do much. Not even the dishes.

It was taco night at Dos Amigo's for supper. They weren't as good as usual but we still enjoyed them. Then on to the Gospel jam at the Desert Gold park.

With a stage full of musicians and lots of singers it was an awesome jam.

Past my bedtime so
God Bless and good night hugs

Day 42...Company - yaaa !

Brrrrrrr...

How are you all doing? Are you still chopping ice or shoveling snow? Another cold and wet and windy day here too. Heavy coat day! The sun finally came out about 3 but it was still cold.

This morning I got my hair cut and I think I will like it. I will see after I wash it. I don't use any of the gook they use in the beauty salon so probably won't turn out the same.

Had to fill up the gas tank again. $3.49 I think it was. Got a subway sandwich for lunch.
Just finished the sandwich and got a call that our company was at the house so hurried home.

Sure was great to have company from Minnesota. Two couples. It was to cold and wet to be on the deck so we squeezed into our little living room and visited a while. We took them to Stevie's diner in Brenda for lunch and on to Quartzsite. Most of the venders were closed because of the weather and the ones that was open closed at 4 so we didn't have much time.
(We even checked out the famous book store). We followed them to their motel so they could check in and then went for supper. We will meet them again for breakfast in the morning before they head back home. They all winter in Tucson.

Seems like all we do is eat......

We didn't get a chance to have my pie. I had a little piece tonight and it wasn't to bad. I just had to try it.

I hope you come back tomorrow.

God Bless & Good night hugs.

Stay Warm

Day 41...Another cool, busy day

Hi everyone,

Send us one of your snow shovels would you? Well, we don't really have snow but it did freeze again last night. Didn't hurt my flowers though. Geepers ! I thought it is suppose to be warm in AZ. Got to about 55 today.

Services at Gods Little Church in The Desert this morning. Came right home and fixed dinner. We bought some precooked Buffalo wings that weren't very good. Had a salad with it. (Some of the shrimp salad left over from yesterday). Then on to the music jam at the club house.

There wasn't many musicians at the jam today but it was good.

Home again. Mel finally got a hair cut. I have a pretty small space to work in but got the job done for another few weeks. Good thing I only have the edges to cut. ha!

On to pie baking. I made a pecan pie. Something I have never made before. I hope it tastes as good as it looks. We will find out tomorrow when company comes. Picture below...

Mel's friend Barry joined us for supper at the Koffa restaurant. I had a taco salad and was it good. Meat all the way to the bottom. Mel had porkchops that was terrible. So tuff he couldn't even cut it with a steak knife. I complained when I paid and they didn't charge us for it. That was nice. We didn't even want to give Molly a bite.

Mel has a job tomorrow. Barry asked him if he would take his dog out tomorrow. Wow.. He is a big strong dog and he walks you. I hope Mel can hang on to him as he will run away if he gets loose.

I get my hair cut in the morning and company coming in the afternoon.

I pray everyone is safe at home.

God Bless and good night hugs.

Day 40...Baby, it's cold outside !

Hello everyone,

Are you getting more snow and ice? my goodness. If it is any comfort to you it
is cold here too. Only in the 50's this afternoon. Jackets on again.

Made it up in time to go to the craft show at the clubhouse. The venders sure are talented.
I am determined to learn how to make some jewelry. They were serving fresh cinnamon rolls too. Sooo good. I did buy something... Pepper earrings and a lizard ! ;-)

This afternoon I made a shrimp/macaroni salad for the pot luck supper. There wasn't many there at the supper but we sure had the food.

We are getting company on Monday. Friends from home is always wonderful.

I also get a hair cut on Monday. Boy do I need it. I suppose I better cut Mel's hair tomorrow too. Seems like Mel, myself, and Molly all need haircuts at the same time.

My little great grandson, Hunter, broke his big toe. Poor little guy. I hope it heals up real fast. A big hug to you Hunter.

I hope everyone is shoveled out on the East cost. And the weather isn't to bad at home

God Bless and big hugs to all.

PS... A reminder to not use my frontiernet email. Send any letters to dimork@yahoo.com. I just keep stalling to call the tech.

Day 39... All better !

Hi there,

Welcome back. I am feeling good again. I don't know what bit me last night but it lasted all night and this morning. But feeling great now.

I missed dance class and the craft show and yard sales at the other park. Mel went to the yard sales and found me some pottery. He is so nice! I love SW pottery. But I get another chance for the craft show as it will be in our park tomorrow.

We went to our regular fish supper. mmmm sooo good. Atlantic Cod - all you can eat.

It was cooler today and will be cooler and rainy tonight and tomorrow. (In the 50's) Maybe even Sunday. Guess we can't have it hot all the time. It is only February after all.

Poor East Coast. They say travel is banned in a couple of states. I have never heard of a ban on travel not even in Minnesota.

Lots of travel plans for my family. I wish them all safety and fun.

Wishing you all Gods Blessings and sending good night hugs.

Day 38... good night

Hello,

I am not feeling the best so won't be writing much. Just a little tummy ache.

See you all tomorrow.

Day 37... Shopping

Hello from Brenda,

We enjoyed an afternoon in Quartzsite. A spaghetti lunch first at Sweet Darlene's restaurant. Then to find a parking spot but that wasn't has hard as last week. We got a few can goods at a grocery tent. Then a bit of shopping for a new shirt. I got 2.. ;-)
Checked out a jewelry & bead store that is going out of business. Got a couple of things there too. (more smiles).

We watched a home made motorized ice cream maker. Mel said the motor is called a 1 cylinder hit and miss. I wish I could put in words what it sounded like. Kind of cool. I had a sample of the ice cream but didn't buy a $5 cone.

Went to the grocery store and got the makings for a pecan pie with the nuts a friend so graciously sent to us. Also stuff to make a shrimp/macaroni salad.

We just drove around a bit and stopped at a bakery. mmmm. Then headed home stopping at the produce tent in Brenda.

Got home in time to put stuff away and then go to the club house for a noodle soup supper. pretty darn good. Mel said not as good as mine. (A bigger smile)

I would be ready for bed but just have to stay up to see the Elvis ETA on the Letterman show. :-)

I think I will have some crab salad.....

God Bless and good night hugs.

Oh, by the way, it was in the 70's again today. :-)

.

Day 36.. Taco night

Hello from nice warm Brenda AZ,

It was a 75 degree, sunny, no wind awesome day. We just hung out at home until supper time. Doors open and sitting out on the deck. Wish you were here.

We went to Dos Amigo's for tacos. They sure know how to make them. Soooo good.

Home for a while. Fed Molly and then went to the Gospel Jam at Desert Gold. So good again. There was 19 musicians and as many singers. Some sang alone and others sang with 2 or 3, even 4 others. Oh the harmony !!! One song was Leaning on His Everlasting Love. They sang with a lot of gusto and beauty. When they finished singing, one of them, Hank, who is always kind of a neat guy, said " now that must have bounced your gizzard !"
Then this singer, fiddle player, would say "Halleluiah"

Molly hasn't felt good lately. I hope she won't need to go outside tonight as much as last night. Poor little girl.

Another Elvis ETA, Brandon Bennett, will be on the David Letterman show soon. The one last night was pretty good. A different Elvis will be on every night this week. Makes me lonesome for Brad Boice...

Until tomorrow God Bless and good night hugs

Monday, February 4, 2013

Day 35... Nice and warm

Hello,

I just can't believe it is Feb. already.

It did get over 70 today. Sure was nice. But I wasn't out much. I did some paper work for taxes and bill paying. With my slow computer it was really time consuming.

Mel washed the car..... again. Looks good until we go someplace again.

So I guess the only exciting part of the day will be the David Letterman show. Well maybe the second most exciting. My boys called so that was the best. Elvis is going to be on the Letterman show all week. :-)

May this find everyone well and warm.

God Bless and hugs

Day 34...Are you ready for some football???

Hi there,

I didn't think I would watch the game but it is on. I still don't know who I am rooting for. I hope your team is winning.

We had a good breakfast at the clubhouse today. Pancakes, eggs, bacon,& orange juice.
Good service at church too. Special music was wonderful.

Went home for lunch and a half hour nap. I sure was tired. Then the music jam at the clubhouse.

We went to Koffa for supper and I was hoping to be back home for halftime but missed it. Was it good?

So back to the game. (I can't believe we are watching it) 6 min left.
Loved the Budweiser commercial...

God Bless and big hugs to all.

Day 33... On the go

Hi everyone...

What a big day we had ! Up at 6am... ( now that doesn't happen very often) and left for Bouce .
We checked out a few yard sales asking directions to the race at the last sale. Then traveling maybe 10 miles on a very rough, narrow, hilly, gravel road we got to where we could see the race cars. The Parker 425 Baha race. How exciting. It was almost an 8 hour race but we only watched for 2. We hope to go again next year but bring chairs and a pot of coffee. We asked another guy the best way to get our of there and he said just take a left at that stop sign. Walla..... black top road leading right back to town.

The Black Powder gun Rondazvew was on in the same area so we checked that out. It didn't amount to much and Molly was afraid of the gun fire. There was a couple of venders we checked out. Mel got a nice belt.

Back to Brenda and lunch at Stevies. We had Minnesota Walleye. Not to bad but kind of greasy. Then home again.

Listening to the race finish on the radio we were so excited as our favorite, Robbie Gordon won. We know him from NASCAR racing. But a few min later they announced that he had a 15 min penalty so he didn't win. They wouldn't say what the penalty was for. They said we would read about it later. But the fans were so mad and demanded to know. He was accused of talking to a helicopter and this helped him know where other cars were. Robbie denied it and I haven't heard any more. I think he got second.

I made shish kabobs(?) and cooked them on the grill. I have never made one before had no idea what I was doing. And it showed. Mel liked them but sure wasn't anything to brag about. I will have to take a lesson.

Tonight we went to the 50's sock hop at the clubhouse. I had a good time but sure tired.

My niece called to tell me her son Larry was in a fishing contest and won a big fishing ice house. Nice eh?

Last night I attempted to post some pictures but I couldn't make it work. I hope it does now.

God Bless and good night hugs

Day 32... Dance, walk, & eat...!!

Hello everyone,

It was a nice warm day here today. I hope you all did too. Not sure of the temps. I think about 68 but warmer in the sun. Our thermometer is in the shade.

Dance class this morning. Again my legs couldn't keep up but I will keep trying.

After lunch Mel went after some lattice and strawberries at the produce tent. I read a little bit while sitting on the deck. Molly beside me of course.

Then I got the crazy idea of going for a walk... Yes, me, without being pushed !! Molly & I walked all the way up to Prigges. (2 blocks) Ginny met me half way. I don't think Verona was feeling well as she was laying down. On the way back we visited another friend, Alice
She had finished a beautiful quilt and wanted me to see it. It was a fan pattern that I had never seen before. She used yellows, browns, & creams.

Home again for a while and then we went and filled the car up with gas and on to the fish supper. It is soooo good and I ate way to much. The place was just packed and we had to wait about a half hour before we even got a table. But worth the wait.

The weekly mail pack was at the post office so went threw that before turning on the computer.

Tomorrow is our day at Bouce for the Black Powder Gun show and the desert race. (Parker 425) There will be a dance at the club house tomorrow night if we get home in time. So I maybe won't be writing.

Have a good safe warm weekend.

God Bless and good night hugs

Day 31... Just another day.

Hello there, Glad you stopped in.

I have just been watching American Idol ... Now I remember why I don't watch the auditions. Wow ! Oh my goodness. Not good. I will start watching it in a couple weeks.

It didn't reach 70 today but it was close...67 I think. Nice and sunny. I see it is below zero already at home. uffda !

We stayed home all day. Didn't even go to the jam tonight. I got my flowers planted and cloths washed. Nothing much else to write about.

See you all tomorrow.

God Bless and hugs

Day 30...We got milk !!

Good evening my friends,

We started our little journey today with a lunch of Pot roast, salad, and pudding at the Senior Center in Quartzsite. Headed for Blythe CA. Such a pretty ride with lots of mountains around.

Yesterday we got a brother for Molly. ;-) He came with a little house but only a pinch of food. He is red and blue with long flowing tresses. Can you guess what it is? Your right... It is a Batta fish.
I need help to name him. Any ideas?

Our first stop was K Mart to get some fish food. From there we went to a flower shop. I got 3 pretty petunia baskets and some 6 pks of assorted plants for the rest of my pots. Now the fun of planting them tomorrow.

Albertsons grocery store was next. We didn't think we needed much but still had a cart full even got milk. Mel got some meat to make his jerky. He can do that while I plant flowers.

Sizzlers for supper. It has a huge salad bar. Soup, chicken wings, taco's, & ice cream goes with it. Needless to say we got filled up and it had to be better than the Green Chili offered at the clubhouse tonight.

Back to Quartzsite. The Roadrunner grocery store makes the best crab salad I have ever had so had to get some more. We still aren't done as we stopped at a produce tent in Brenda and got a few more things including a huge bunch of bananas for $1.00

Home again. Stopped to say hello to the Prigges and Ginny.

Molly had some supper and has been sleeping since. She had a long day in the car.

We got such a nice present in the mail today. A big bunch of pecans.
Thanks to our friends, The Wilsons who picked and shelled them all.
Thank you so much A & A.

Going to be in the 70's tomorrow. Sending some heat with this blog to help melt the ice.

God Bless and Good night hugs.

Day 29...Taco night

Welcome back,
I hope your day was a good one. I see another winter storm at home. Stay safe It was a jacket day here. Only in the 50's again. Beautiful bright moon over the mountains.

Another dance class this morning. Sure is fun. Just wish my legs thought the same.

For lunch we had some stuffed clam shells... To make it short, they weren't very good!!

We were out of milk so decided to go to Quartzsite. We ended up looking around and still hungry from not much of a lunch so we shared a subway sandwich. We looked and looked around but didn't buy anything but a knife sharpener. Got some shopping ideas for another day though. :-)

We planned supper with friends at a Taco supper and time got away from us. So with a half hour to get there we headed back toward home.... and guess what. We didn't get any milk !!
Taco's were so good though.

This evening is back to the Gospel Jam at Desert Gold . There was a full house tonight. Good music !!

We will get the milk tomorrow.

God Bless and Good night hugs

Day 28...windy and cool

Howdy,

How is icy Minnesota doing? It is cold and windy and cloudy here too. 51*. I haven't been out only to let Molly out. Mel did wash the car.

Our LP tank had a leak so had to have it filled again this morning. It was kind of chilly in here but not to bad. about 60 maybe. The bed sure felt good. LP came about 10. No... I wasn't in bed that long. I wish I had been.

I washed the bed sheets and vacuumed today. Mel couldn't make his company site work as he kept putting the wrong password in. The cap lock was on. So had to call the teck to get it straightened out.

We sure are busy aren't we?

I still have supper dishes to do so will send Good night hugs and God Bless

Day 27... I forgot

I forgot to tell you what we are going to do next Sat. I am kind of excited.
We are going to the Parker 425. It is a desert race. Any race lovers will have to look it up to see what its all about. There will also be a black powder show in the same area. We go to Bouse to see this.

I hope everyone is safe with the ice storm I am hearing about.

Good night

Day 27...Sunny Sunday

Hello my friends,

Just having a quiet Sunday afternoon. Almost supper time.

After church we joined some friends for lunch at Black Rock Cafe. It wasn't very good. I had a simple greesy fish sandwich. Mel had a mushy baked chicken buffet. So I hope I can make a better supper. Not sure what yet. I think Mel wants his other stuffed pepper.

The jam this afternoon was good. A lady who sat at the next table kept telling us to be quiet. Guess we were either talking or singing to loud !! :-(.

No plans for the evening. It is nice out though. 65 degrees and sunny.

Good night and God Bless. Sending hugs too.

Day 26... Its working !!

Hi everyone, Any snow yet?

I can't believe everything is working tonight. I even got all 58 messages from my Frontier emails. Hasn't worked for days. I have 3 bars of signal. This rain must have did some good.

It sure did rain. All night and most of today. Now the desert and mountains should really green up.

We went to the craft show at Brenda Park but I didn't buy anything. They had big hamburgers and root beer floats too. We did buy that. mmmm We drove around the park and seen some friends we met when we lived there.

We went and visited Molly's babysitter and made an appointment for Molly to stay with her when we go to the Phoenix Race in March.

The afternoon was pretty quiet. We read some papers, rested a bit, watched the rain.
I made stuffed peppers for supper. No, none for me but Mel liked them. I made some shrimp and sweet potato fries for me.

Church service tomorrow at Gods Little Church in The Desert. Jam at the clubhouse in the afternoon. No other plans.

I hope the ice storm don't happen for you.

Good night hugs and God's Blessings.

Day 25...rain rain rain

Hello,

I am just writing a short one tonight and hope it sends. I barely have signal and nothing works. Maybe it is the rain.

It has been raining off and on all day but tonight it coming down pretty good. I do love the sound of a soft rain.

This morning I went to the dance class again. I think I got the easier line dance working pretty good but the others I have a lot to work on. My legs give out faster than the music.

We went to the fish supper again. Mmmmm so good.

Not to try and get this sent.

Good night hugs and Gods Blessings

Day 24...Soup day

Hello

It was a cloudy night and day with a few short showers. About 62*

Mel's friend came over this morning. I did laundry after lunch. Then I made veggie beef noodle soup. We had that for supper. Was pretty good.

Molly got a bath so she is white again. She soon needs a haircut.

Brenda Gospel Jam tonight. It was pretty good. Even had a cello (how ever you spell it)
conchairto (how ever you spell that ). It was fun to listen to.
Dance class in the morning. Hope my legs hold out.

I just heard from my niece Toni who has quit smoking for 2 months now. Keep up the good work Toni.

I hope to write this blog in the afternoons from now on. It gets so late when I write at night after we have been out.

I think I will have a bowl of soup and go to bed.....

Good night hugs and God Bless

Day 23...Elvis time

Hello my friends,

It was a cloudy day but warm. Must have been 70 again. So nice.

We went to Quartzsite for a few groceries. Mel is wanting some Beef veggie soup. My job for tomorrow. This town is so busy right now. Can't find a parking place ... Can't hardly even drive around. One big traffic jam. But we got what we needed.

It is soup supper night at the club house. I didn't care for the soup as it had to many nasty veggies in it. The broth was good and Mel liked it.

Tonight I got my Elvis fix. A young man gave a concert at the Brenda park. Michael Cullipher is his name. He was very good. Not as great as our Brad Boice but Michael was pretty good. It was a 2 1/2 hour concert and I loved it. He was only singing as Elvis for 2 years so he has a great future. He is only 22. He even sang Polk Salad Annie !!
I got a scarf and a kiss from him too. :-) I bought his Gospil CD.

Sending good night hugs and Gods Blessings

Day 22...It's Such a Pretty Day Today...

Look at the Sunshine !!

It was near 75* today.

You won't believe what I did this morning. I went to a dance class. I am going to learn how to line dance. I may never do it at a dance but I hope to say that I know how to do a couple of them.

This afternoon we just sat out on the deck. Mel took a nap and I read my book.

For supper we grilled bacon hamburgers. They weren't that great so doubt we will use bacon again. It was to much work grinding up the bacon anyway and it just made the burger greasy.

Tonight was the Gospel Jam at Desert Gold. So many of my favorites were sung tonight. There was 22 in the band.

I am so anxious for tomorrow night as ELVIS will be at Brenda Park. I doubt he will be as good as Brad so I hope I won't be to disappointed. I don't remember his name but will let you know tomorrow.

It must be bedtime. So will send good night hugs and Gods Blessings

Day 21...Day at home

Good evening,

It sounds so cold back home. Hard to imagine when we sit here with 70 degrees.

Even with the nice weather I still spent the afternoon fighting this computer again. But I got the job done finally. I just hope Landstar got all the info they needed.

Ginny made us some mincemeat bars. I don't really care for mincemeat but the bars were good.

I made spaghetti and meat balls for supper and had lots of dishes to do.

That's about it for today. Exciting, eh?

Good night hugs and Gods Blessings

Day 20... What a day..

Hi there everyone,

It was a busy day. I even had to get up early. Breakfast at the club house at 8:30. We had biscuits, gravy, and scrambled eggs. Home for a while and then church at the Little Church in the Desert. Pastor Rick is a great guy. Full of fun and Gods love.

Lunch at home with the left over cabbage rolls. Then off to the music jam at the club house. It was really good today. We enjoyed every song. There was a wonderful mandolin player and a lead guitarist. Plus about 22 other musicians and as many singers.

Home long enough to catch up with the dishes then off to Koffa for supper. The food wasn't as good as it usually is. But I didn't have to wash any more dishes.

Another music jam at Black Rock park. We left half way threw it. Just to tired I guess.

We didn't get the temps in the 70's that was forecasted but 65 wasn't bad.

So home again and the day almost over. I wonder what we will do tomorrow???

Good night hugs and God Bless

I forgot to tell you that the "Village People" were at the dance last night singing YMCA .... ha ha ! Sorry the picture is so bad. No flash on the phone.

Day 19... Dumb computer !!

Hello,

I had business things to do on the computer but the computer didn't want to do it.
I got so frustrated. I would go online and it would disconnect right away. After fighting with it for a couple of hours I called the tech. He had me upgrade my broadband. It helped for a while then disconnected again. I finally found what I needed and wanted to make a copy.
Well, the copy machine didn't work. I unplugged and re-plugged and did it again. Rebooted the computer I don't know how many times but nothing helped. I finally figured it out. The computer was still set on the type of printer I have at home. As soon as I changed to the one here it worked. I finally gave up and made supper.

I made cabbage rolls with cherry pie for desert. mmm it was pretty good.

After supper we went to the sock hop at the clubhouse. It was fun.

The broadband is working tonight so it better work again tomorrow so I can finish my job.

Good night hugs and God Bless

Day 18...Busy warm day

Greetings,

How are you all today? We are doing great. Still some coughing but other than that we feel good.

I never did see what the temp was today but must have been 70 to 75. Felt so good.

I must have been tired as I really slept in this morning. I thought Mel wanted to leave early but he didn't wake me. So it was nice. I hate to admit the time but it was about 9:45... can you believe it?

We had a bit of breakfast and headed out. We went to Quartzsite first and looked for a computer store. I needed ink for my printer. But it wasn't where we were told it would be.

We checked out an auction tent. They only had long isles of things for sale and no auction until Sunday. Was nothing there we couldn't get along without so we left. Last year we went there and Molly got totally scared of a little foot high hippo. We were thinking of buying one but with a $30 price tag it wasn't worth a joke for Molly.

By then it was lunch time so we went to the Senior Center. Guess what? They were having a craft show. No, I didn't buy anything. We ate our lunch and on we went to Parker. Still looking for printer ink.

Found an office supply store but oh the prices... $49 for black ink. They didn't have color. So I left without. Guess we have to go to Walmart. (I hate Walmart) Got the ink and a rug for the bathroom. After we left I got to thinking... I could have ordered it from Staples by mail.

Groceries next. We were told Safeway had lots of specials on Fridays. Well, we didn't see any... But we got what we needed and a few things we didn't need. Like peppers for stuffed peppers :-(, corned beef to go with our cabbage
:-( , Chicken wings for buffalo wings :-/ . Sure can tell Mel is shopping with me.

On the way home we stopped at a gun club to do some target practice. Sure I can hit the target. Did you doubt it? Molly wasn't to happy though as she was hiding down by the car peddles and wouldn't come out. She does hate loud bangs.

To finish our day we had the fish supper at Dos Amigo's. I do love their fish.

So maybe I can sleep in again tomorrow... :-)

Good night hugs and Gods Blessings

Day 17...crafts & Jams

Hello,

It was a nice day. About 65 degrees and warmer in the sun. Even warmer tomorrow. Yaaaa

We went to a craft show in Desert Gold Park. Didn't buy much but always fun looking. Seen some friends so talked more than shopped.

Then I just craved a Stevie burger so we went to the roadside place to have lunch.
They are so big but oh so good. We even ate outside.

Home again and did some cleaning. I have the deck organized finally.
Just missing flowers but not going to chance the weather and will wait a week or two more before I get any. I did set out the artificial plants.

Our friends from Grand Rapids, MN, Alice and Kermit, came over for a nice visit.

After our pork chop supper we went to the Gospel Jam in Brenda Park. It sure was good tonight. I was so surprised by one of the singers. She and her husband dressed in jeans and T-shirts, & played mandolins. When she started to sing she had a lovely high soprano voice. Just didn't fit for some reason but was a pretty song. Pepie, our Indian accordion player sang our favorite "Lets Go Down To The River". He sure can sing. He can't read music but he plays accordion and piano REALLY awesome. Can't get over the talent all these people have.

Must be bedtime. Another busy day tomorrow.

Good night hugs and Gods Blessings

Day 16...nice ride

Welcome back,

I hope you are all well.

The temps finally got over 60 today. It is suppose to be near 70 for the next 3 days and then over 70 next week. yippie !!

We went for a long ride today. Stopped at a couple of produce places and got some oranges, grapefruits, lemons, tomatoes, pineapple, & some sweet potatoes. I took some pictures of some metal work. I will try to put it on here. Can't remember just how to do it.

For supper we went to the Kofa restaurant for a spaghetti supper. It was pretty good. Ginny, Verona, & Cliff joined us.

Craft show tomorrow in Desert Gold park. I suppose I better go to that. :-)

Good night hugs and Gods Blessings

Mountain peaks just barely peaking threw the very low clouds...

Day 15...Warm days coming.

Good evening my friends,

Feels so good to feel good. :-) I hope none of you ever get this old flu. Granddaughter Cilla is sick. This must be even harder with a little one in care. Get well Cilla.xx

Today wasn't anything special. I caught up with laundry. We had a steak supper. Mel peeled the potatoes and ate half of them raw so had to peel another. ha!!

Tonight we finally went to a Gospel Jam at Desert Gold. Wasn't many musicians there tonight. I hope they weren't sick. Only 15 on stage. Usually there is 25 to 30. Maybe Brad should have been there. :-)

It is suppose to start warming up tomorrow. In the 50's and 70 on Thursday. About time I would say. Maybe we can get our deck cleaned up and decorated. All our yard stuff is still in the house.

One of these days I will start with some pictures. I have a new camera but haven't used it much. So I will need to practice.

Take care, stay safe, stay well
hugs and Gods Blessings

Day 14... Windy cold

Hello my family and friends,

Another cold day here plus it was windy so it felt even colder. It did get to 40 today but didn't feel that warm. Not sure how cold it got last night. We left the water dripping in the sink so no frozen pipes. AZ news told of the many pipes frozen and lots of water damage. It has to warm up one of these days.

I am feeling so much better. Thank you all for all the get well wishes.
I think I will be going to the music jams now.

We went to Quartzsite today. Had lunch at the Senior Center. Beef stew, bun, desert. Even seconds all for only $3.00.

On to some shopping but neither of us found what we wanted. I have wanted a fleece jacket but they are always sold out before I get there. I thought I was early this year but no. Mel wanted a car wash mitt but couldn't find that either. So we got a few groceries and headed home again. It was just to cold to look around much.

Stopped in at Pregges for a few min. It was good to talk to someone.

I think it is ice cream time... I heard Mel going in the freezer. :-)

Good night hugs and God Bless

Day 13... Colder yet.

Hello my friends,

Yes, it got cold. We woke up to 21 degrees and frozen pipes. Mel tried to get it to work but no luck. But when the sun hit them in the afternoon it thawed out.
Sure was good to flush the toilet again... ha! At least no pipes broke.

Mel went to the music jam in our park this afternoon but I just stayed home and took a nap.

Our next door neighbor, Bev, isn't living here anymore. Bev is 83 years old. She lost her husband a couple of years ago. And now she has a "boyfriend". We are so happy for her. She now lives in Quartzsite. What a happy lady. She said she is so happy her wrinkles went away. She came over today to see us and invited us to meet them for supper tonight in Quartzsite. So we got to meet Frank. I guess she is going to sell her place here. I hope any new neighbors will be as nice as Bev.

We might go shopping in Quartzsite tomorrow. Will see how my cough is.

Stay warm everyone. It is suppose to freeze here again tonight and tomorrow night too. I hope it gets back to AZ temps soon.

Good night hugs and God Bless

Day 12...Just cold.

Hi there,

It did get cool last night. I woke up at 3 am and it was kind of chilly in here.
We had run out of LP. It was 27 degrees outside and 55 in here.

I dug out an electric heater and that got us threw the night. I don't really like it to warm at night anyway but Mel had to get another blanket. I called the office first thing in the morning and we had LP in no time. Mel was up early and took the tank from the grill and hooked that up while waiting for the office to open.

Our friends, Betty and Roger, came over for a visit. They knew we had been sick so we hadn't seen them yet. We had a good visit.

About all we did the rest of the day was eat noodle soup. We seemed to eat the dumplings first so had to make another batch for supper.

We missed out on a potluck supper at the clubhouse tonight but didn't want to cough in front of everyoone. I will probably stay away from the crowds for a couple more days.

We just enjoy our new TV and stay warm. Not much else going on.

Good night hugs & God Bless

Day 11... Hey! I left the house.

Hi there,

Didn't get very warm today but no wind so wasn't to bad. 50 maybe. But tonight it was 34 last time I looked.

We got hungry for chicken noodle soup so Mel went to town for a chicken. It wasn't done yet by supper time so we decided to go to the fish supper at Dos Amego's. First time I left the house all week. Seemed pretty good.

When we got back home I finished the soup in time for a bedtime snack. Tomorrow I will put some dumplings in and then it will really be good. Come on over.

We are still coughing a bit but getting so much better. As busy as the hospitals are I think I would be afraid to go. To many sick people there.. ;-)

I read in a paper today that the hospital closest to us is the 3ed worst in the nation. Boy, that sure is comforting.

I know a few of my friends have been sick so I hope your all feeling better too.

So good night hugs to all and God Bless

Day 10... Getting cold.

Hello there,

I see it is pretty warm in Minnesota. The weather man here was kind of funny today.
It seems that the AZ temps are going to drop for a few days. 50's in the day and below freezing at night. He said it is going to be like Minnesota weather. I don't think he has ever known Minnesota weather...haha

I been trying to get a few things done between coughing spells. I got half the curtains washed and ironed and rehung. We finally took the silver window covers down too.

But this cough is driving me crazy !!!

I hope all is well at home...

Good night hugs and Gods Blessings.
