Day 57...It is warming up... a bit!
Yes, it is warming up a bit but still need a lite jacket when we go out. At least I do. Mel always goes in shirt sleeves.
We mostly stayed home today. I paid bills and goofed on the computer. A couple of neighbors stopped in to see our new room. Mel went up a few spots to visit another trucker from MO.
Just feels good to be done with the carpenter work.
I started looking for something for supper but was saved by A.G. & Audrey's phone call. Meet us at Silly Al's for pizza..... sure we can!! Now I have tomorrows supper planned. :-)
Tomorrow is Molly's day. I hope she does the tricks and the jumps. Not sure about the rest of the day. Gospel Jam tomorrow night.
Our friend, Elwood, is going home tomorrow. Tests proved that there was no hole in his heart. The clots are breaking up but will continue on meds. Please continue prayers for his healing. thanks
Found out today that we will have to go to Texas for a safety meeting on Mel's job. So will have to leave here a week early. About the 26th. Hope to be home about the 1st or 2ed.
Bed time.. Good night and God Bless

Day 56...Sunshine but cool
It got pretty cold last night. It even snowed in Tuscon. A mountain near us had snow caps. It only rained here , thank goodness.
It has been a busy day today. After church we enjoyed lunch at Black Rock cafe with the Wilsons. We had the chicken buffet
This is a nice cafe but is closing for the season already on the 3ed. We will miss it.
Home and ready to watch the race but decided to go to the music jam in our park for a while. We enjoyed many good singers today. Friends followed us home for a good visit on the deck.
Had to check on the race from time to time and we did get to watch the last 30 laps. I was ok with the outcome. Mark lost spots to the end but was ok at 13th. At least Kyle didn't win so I was happy. Gorden was the winner.
A trucker friend, Paul, is on his way to CA so we met him at Kofa restaurant as he passed by. Wilsons was there too. After dinner we brought him back to our place so he could see it. Then we all went to another music Jam at Black Rock park. A.G. and Audrey drove Paul back to Kofa where his truck was parked.
I think there is a craft show near by tomorrow and will be checking it out. No other plans for tomorrow.
Please continue Prayers for our friend Elwood. I know he is improving but still in the hospital. I will give you a better report tomorrow. Good night and God Bless

Day 55.. rain rain rain
We had company for a while this morning. Mel worked in his shop all day.
It is suppose to rain tomorrow too so I wonder if it will be raining in Phoenix? The race could be postponed. I am glad we didn't go as it is pretty cold to be sitting in the bleachers.
We might just have to go to a music jam instead. We shall see. If the race is on I will be in front of the TV.
Have a good Sunday everyone... Good night and God Bless
Day 54...Dog show post poned
Hi there everyone,
It was so cold and windy this morning. We took Molly to the doggie park for the contest but because of the wind and cold air it was post poned until Tuesday.
I washed 3 loads of cloths. Always so grateful to have a washer and dryer in here. Did a little dusting and vacuuming too.
We met Wilsons for fish and chips at Dos Amigo's. Ate way to much but oooooh so good.
One of our neighbors is in a band that performed at Brenda Park tonight so went to hear them play. The lady singers name is Cookie and could she sing and yodel. It was a fun show.
I am closing tonight with a prayer request. Our good friend, Elwood, has been recuperating from lung surgery and doing so well. He even got Dr's permission to drive again. But things change... He was losing his breath and went back to the hospital to find he had several blood clots and pneumonia. Surgery got the clot that was in his thigh but because of his breathing problems they couldn't get the clot behind his knee. He also has clots in his lung and possible leak in his heart. He is now out of ICU but watched very closely.
Good night and God Bless

Day 53...Grocery day
Is it still snowing? Cool here too by AZ standards. Only in the 60's. The sun is warm in the afternoons though.
We went to Blythe today. I got a new vacuum today. My old one died a week ago an the shop vac just wasn't the easiest to clean carpets with. The new one works really good.
We met Wilsons for a donut at the bakery shop. It is run by 2 ladies. And can they bake!
Cake, donuts, rolls, breads, cookies.... what ever you want and all home made.
Then we got groceries. We didn't get so much this time but the total bill was still scary!!
Home from there.
After I put the groceries put away, we took Molly for a walk and took her threw the obstacle course she will be in tomorrow a the doggy show. She does all the jumps but also wanted to just smell everything. I hope she does ok tomorrow.
After supper and dishes done we went to the Gospel Jam in Brenda Park. Not so many band members this time but still was so good.
Prayers go to my friend Ginny as she lost a good friend last night.
Good night to all. Think of Molly tomorrow. :-)
Hugs & God Bless

Day 52...Day in Quartzsite - Wed. night
The blind driver...
The course...
....................................................................
Now do you see why I need a different bedspread? The quilt just don't work with the carpet......
My computer corner....
Cowboy things...
Still need something for the wall on the side of the bed.
Hello, We left to go and get groceries and ended up looking around Quartzsite. We haven't hardly been there and the vendors are already starting to leave. We were there for 4 hours and only seen one corner of it. One of the stores is called Gem World. I want go back and spend a couple hours there by myself.
We met AG & Audrey at the Black Rock cafe for supper. Roast Beef and/or Chicken Pot Pie buffet. Sure was good. Then we met back at our place for a while.
Guess what just happened... The last part of this post disappeared. Now I have to do the pictures all over. I think I will put them on top.
We better get some groceries tomorrow. Nothing else planned. So good night and God Bless

Day 51... We have a deck again!
What a day! Mel & Roger took the left over panels back this morning. I went to the gulf cart races. So funny. They had to drive them threw an obstacle course. The last race was driving with a sack over their head and the co-driver had to direct them. A few things got run over or into..lol
After lunch Molly got a bath and a hair cut. She is so pretty.
Mel cleaned the deck. Oh so nice to have our deck back instead of a pile of stuff. It was even warm enough to sit out there. I spent most of the afternoon setting up my computer area and TV. I got the big computer monitor and the printer hooked up. It was working great but now the screen shut off. I am just to tired to deal with it so just looking at my little laptop.
I was going to add some pictures but decided to do that tomorrow. I want to make sure everything is working ok.
Tomorrow we hope to finish up. It is close to done now but still a few things to put away.
Mel is hanging his tools and making a shelf. I am still wishing for a better bed spread. Molly is happy to have her little room back.
Good night and God Bless

Day 50...Carpet down
.......................................................................................
Hi there everyone, How is the storm doing? Can you get out and about yet? It was pretty nice here. Not AZ warm but nice.
This morning we got the final trim boards or what ever you call it. Mel will work on that tomorrow. Just needed in his shop.
This afternoon we laid the carpet and put the bed up. We got company then so had to quit. I am totally stumped about what kind or color of bed spread and curtain.
We met Wilsons at the Kofa restaurant for supper then went on to the music jam in Hope.
Tomorrow is a big day. Golf cart races, and then returning the paneling we have left. Molly gets a hair cut in the afternoon. So bedtime for me. Good night and God Bless
Sunday, February 20, 2011
Day 49...Race Day!
After church this morning we went right home and the race was just starting. And what a good race it was. A 20 year old new comer won. How exciting for him. Mark Martin came in 10th. Not bad considering he was 3 laps behind at one point.
We went out for pizza with some new friends from Hill city MN. We thought there was a jam at a church in Quartzsite but we found that it was last night. oops!!! So we just went home.
Hope to start getting the new bedroom cleaned up and the carpet laid tomorrow. I hope... I hope... I hope.
There was a neat photo moment at sunset but of course I forgot to take my camera. Must have been 20 contrails in the sky all chris-crossing each other. The sky was real bright at the horizon with a touch of pink and then the white trails . Sure was pretty.
Take care & God Bless

Day 48...Rain, rain, rain
.....................................................................................................
Hi there, Is it snowing yet?
It started raining early this morning. In fact it woke me up. And it rained off and on all day. We had the stuff on the edge of the deck all covered. Lots of puddles in the road but they didn't last long.
Mel finished all but the trim in his shop. We will be going after that on Monday. Then we will start to clean up and put things together again.
We probably won't be doing much tomorrow. church in the morning, NASCAR race in the afternoon and going out for pizza with new friends from northern Minnesota. Maybe a concert after supper.
It will be cool here all week. low 60's... Can't get a tan that way.
I hope everyone is safe and warm. Good night and God Bless.

Day 47...fish supper
Brrrr...it was cold today. The temp read 65 but the cold wind made it feel like 35. Everyone had coats on . Didn't have to shovel though. We stayed inside all day and had the heater going.
Mel got the walls done today. Well, almost. He still has to climb under the work bench and panel that. We are going tomorrow to get some more moldings.
Hey, it's raining. I wish it was warmer. I would love to sit on our deck while it is raining. I stood out for a minute but that's all. Oh, and there is no room to sit on the deck any way!! (I wish the addition was done..)
We joined the Wilsons for supper at Black Rock cafe. It was all you could eat fish. Sure was good. We were going to a show tune concert but it was sold out. shoot!! So we came back to our house and had some wine instead.
I think it quit raining already.
So will just say good night & God Bless.

Day 46...A quiet day
I went to another craft show and a couple of rummage sales this morning. I got some earrings is all. Nothing at the rummage sales. Mel got a tool kit... saws all, drill, & a skill saw. He has been using the parks tools. Now he can have his own. Mel went to get some corner pieces while I was in the craft show. I got done looking before he got back so I sat on a bench outside while waiting. Well, that was a mistake. I sat down on the edge of the bench and the dumb thing tipped me off. Almost landed on top of me as I went down in the gravel. I scratched up my leg. Not bad but stung for a while. I was more embarrassed than hurt.
We had to get some cash so went to the cash machine. We could not remember our pins. I wonder how the thieves can get money when the owners can't. LOL I found it now so will have to try again tomorrow.
So anxious for the Daytona race on Sunday. Gooooo Mark Martin!!!!
Being I worked so hard today I better go to bed and get some rest. ha!!
Good night & God Bless..

Day 45...Vacuum died.
Hello,
We were home most of the day. Mel worked on his shop. He is doing a great job. He is putting the tung and grove pine boards on the wall at each side of his work bench. Tomorrow the paneling will go up in there. I did some cleaning. My vacuum died. It seemed to be working but it only sucked up the dirt into the hose. wouldn't pass into the bin. Mel took it apart but couldn't find the problem. So I used the shop vac. No wand on that so had to be on my knees. But I got the job done.
It had a slight chance of rain today. It got really cloudy. So we covered up everything on the edge of the deck. Carried up all the wood that was left on the ground. The wind came up and then it was done. No rain. It hasn't rained since we came.
We went out for supper to Dos Amigo's with the Wilsons. I would tell you what I had if I could spell it. lol It was good though.
Tomorrow is another craft show. Other than that no plans. So will say Good night and
God Bless
Day 44...friends gone home.---
A little tiny church in the country.
This is an Intaglio. They have been there for a long long time but no body knows how they got there.
...................................................................................................
Hi there,
It was a busy day a sad day and a happy day.
I washed cloths and bedding this morning. Always so thankful for my washer and dryer.
Verona, Cliff, & Ginny left for home today. We sure enjoyed their time here. They decided to leave their camper here in storage for the summer and return next winter. Isn't that great?
Then AG & Audrey Wilson got here. They are from Wyoming. They are parked in Salome. (about 20 miles from here). They just stopped in on the way by but returned later.
I finished folding cloths this afternoon and then finished oiling my boards. Yes, I am finally done. With that part anyway. Mel got the ceiling done in his shop too. Not sure when Roger will return to finish the walls as his brother is visiting him. I sure wish it was allllll done. Sick of the mess.
Audrey & AG returned and had supper with us. I made a crock pot beef stew this morning. They brought an apple pie for desert.
After supper we all went to the Gospel jam in Desert Gold park. There was a group of 3 who sang tonight. The sound was just awesome. Gave me goosebumps. And as usual many more sang too.
I think I will climb into the clean sheets. Good night and God Bless

Day 43... Intagleos
The 5 of us went for a long ride today. The weather was perfect. I will tell you all about it tomorrow.
We had a Valentines dance at the club house. "Barefoot & Boots" was the band. Lots of fun but sure tired.
Verona, Cliff, & Ginny are leaving tomorrow. I sure will miss them. I wish you a wonderful safe trip home, guys.
I must say HAPPY VALENTINES DAY to all. Good night. Almost sleeping right here. God Bless

Day 42.. Trip to Yuma
Sorry. I can not get the captions to go with the picture. But close.
....................................................................
After a good breakfast in Quartzsite at Sweet Darlene's we took a trip to Yuma. It is about a 85 mile trip. We seen a lot of produce fields. We could tell what most of them were but a couple had us wondering. One looked like very long grass. We ruled out onions. The other field was very dark red, almost black something..like black lettuce. Any ideas?
We seen the big guns at the entrance of Yuma Proving Grounds. The Occateo cactus was blooming in that area.
On to the Yuma Markets... or for a better name, a huge flea market. We got a few things. I got a couple of turtles ( lawn ornaments) and the rug for the new bedroom. Ginny and Verona got a couple things too. In fact Cliff got Verona a pretty Valentine gift.
We thought we would have to come back to get the carpet but we used Cliff's idea of tieing it to the top of the car and we got it home all safe and sound. I can't wait to lay it. Mel picked it out. It isn't what I would have picked but it is very beautiful with reds, blacks and off whites. Now I will have to get a floor pad for my computer chair.
We met some camper friends for lunch. Pat and Leroy. We met them on our first trip out here and became good friends. They are from MN but now live full time in there big RV. The 7 of us had a good visit at the Golden Coral.
On the way home we got a Date Shake. Oh, was that good!!
Tomorrow we will be off again. Starting with breakfast at the Prigges.
Good night and God Bless
Saturday, February 12, 2011
Day 42.... Day of change.
This morning was the craft show. Always fun. Yes, I did get a couple of things. A copper necklace and sleeve pins. Mel came and we enjoyed a cinnamon roll together and then he went back home and finished insulating his shop. After lunch we got ready to go to Blythe.
We remeasured the bedroom for carpet, dug out our heavy coats all with plans to go to the carpet store, have some supper, and go to the races....But
Both carpet stores were closed and then found out there was no race. We had the dates wrong. It will be next Sat. Shoot!!
We got groceries and headed home. We forgot all about the "Bud Shootout"
NASCAR racing season has begon. yaaaaaaaaaa. We got home in time to see the final 8 laps on TV. The winner isn't my favorite but.....it is racin!! This week is called Daytona week with several races happening. And the big 500 race next Sunday. Can't wait.
We watched a very sad show of the final race for Dale Earnhardt.
Tomorrow we are all going to Yuma.. So I better get to bed. Not used to getting up as early as we will tomorrow. Good night........GOD Bless.

Day 41...Craft show
..............................................................................................
First this this morning Mel and I went after more linseed oil and the trim for around the edges of the window and doors. Mel and Roger got a lot of the trim up while us girls were gone.
I don't think much work will be done over the weekend. Mel might do some in the shop.
We have a big weekend planed. Another craft show at our park & races tomorrow night.
My friends will be leaving on Tuesday morning. Sure will be lonesome here again. But our friends AG & Audrey Wilson will be here after that. Audrey, will you help me with another curtain? :-)
Another beautiful warm day. I hope it sticks around a while.
Good night & God Bless
Thursday, February 10, 2011
Day 40... Almost done
The room is almost done. The paneling is up and the ceiling is done except for one little strip. I was one short with the oil. They start on Mel's shop tomorrow. We still have the trim and floor covering to do in the bedroom. I ran out of linseed oil so have to get more tomorrow so I can finish my job.
We enjoyed supper at Cliff and Verona's again tonight. Then we went to the Gospel jam at Brenda park.
It was a bit chilly today. ONLY about 65. ;-)
After Mel and I make a trip to Quartzsite tomorrow to get more oil, the girls and I are going to the Ramblin Roads RV park in Hope & check out a craft show. Then back to work at home oiling the rest of the knotty pine boards.
Good night and God Bless
Wednesday, February 9, 2011
Day 39...We got walls!
Behind Roger at another table is Barb and Ron Hougen(sp?) from Byron
..................................................................................................
The guys really worked today and got the paneling all done in the bedroom. They also had to take the doors off. The door to Mel's shop wasn't opening the right direction so they turned it upside down and replaced it. The door to the deck was crooked so that was straightened. I think tomorrow they will do the ceiling. I hope my oiled boards are dry by then. I can't wait for it to be done. Everything from the bedroom and Mel's shop is on the deck so we can't sit out at all.
We had supper at Black Rock and then got a few groceries. On the way home we stopped in at Verona and Cliffs place for a while. Home again.
I got some red licorice for the second time and this bag tastes as bad as the first bag. (different brands too) So we made some popcorn instead.
Prayers are needed for our good friend, Elwood Witter, from Rochester who just had part of his lung removed with cancer. All is looking good so far and no other signs of cancer was found.
Good night and God Bless.
Tuesday, February 8, 2011
Day 38...room getting close to done
They got a lot of the paneling up today. Only the small special cut pieces left. Looking so nice. I brushed on the oil on a lot of the ceiling boards today but still not done. Tomorrow is another day. Will be looking for laminate for the floor next. I hope that is easier to find then the paneling was.
Verona and Ginny made a delicious supper again. (thank you ) They made chicken pot pie and snicker fruit salad. After supper we went to a Gospel music jam. I could have stayed all night. Such wonderful music.
Dixie.... they played our song. :-) "If that isn't Love". Pepa' sang it. It is an Elvis & Brad song. love it love it love it.
Bible means.. Basic - Instructions - Before - Leaving - Earth
Bedtime already. More oiling to do tomorrow. Good night & God Bless
PS...Sorry no pictures lately. My cord got packed up someplace.
Monday, February 7, 2011
Day 37...Working on room
Mel worked all morning on insulating our new room. Never having done that before he did a real good job. I got a start on brushing on the Linseed Oil. Our neighbor came middle afternoon and got a start on the paneling. I still say... Trey & Russ, I need you! But Roger is doing ok. We will all start again tomorrow.
I made a crock pot supper. Roast beef, potatoes, corn, carrots, & fruit. Ginny, Verona, & Cliff joined us and brought along a cheese cake with cherrys and blueberries. All was so good.
Tonight we all went to the music jam at Desert Roads RV Park. There was a huge crowd and good music.
I forgot to look at the temp here but I would say it was 72 or 73. Sooooo nice.
I guess it is bed time. My legs ache from standing so long and on the gravel to paint. Hope they feel better by morning. Good night & God Bless
Sunday, February 6, 2011
Day 36...nice and warm
Did you watch the Super Bowl? Hey, we did. Were you happy with the score? I wasn't.
But then what do I know ??
The weather was great today. No wind and about 70 or 72. I hope it stays like this now.
Tomorrow we start work on the bedroom. I hope it goes well and fast.
We had a good breakfast at the club house this morning. Bacon, eggs, & pancakes. After breakfast the 5 of us went to church then back to their place for lunch. I really think those girls get up at 3 am as they always have something good to eat. They had a pasta hotdish today with salad and desert. We left by 8:15 this morning so when would they have time to cook all that if they didn't get up VERY early??? They sure have spoiled us with their home made goodies.
Thanks Verona and Ginny. Oh and Cliff too.
The afternoon music jam was good too. But after I got so tired. I did nothing but watch football. My goodness. How did that happen?? I did fry hamburgers for supper.
Good night & God Bless

Day 35...Off to the Big Tent.
Our day ended with another beautiful sunset.
My dream pickup!!
The 3 bears...lol. (Ginny & Verona)
...................................................................
Hi there. How was your day? It was good here. It finally warmed up this afternoon.
Mel went back to the Rendezvous in Bouce. He was happy as he finally got to shoot his black powder rifle.
I went with Ginny, Verona, & Cliff to Quartzsite and toured the 'Big Tent'. There was a classic car show and a craft show. I wasn't very impressed with the so called craft show. It was mostly just vendors selling pots and pans, knives, shirts, hand lotion, and what ever else I didn't want. But there sure was some beautiful Classic cars. We checked out a few other places before we headed for home.
The 5 of us went out to Dos Amegos for supper. Then had a good visit at our place.
Tomorrow will be breakfast at the club house. Church at the "Little Church in the Desert", and after lunch the music jam at our park. Super Bowl??? doubt it. Maybe to check the score once in a while. (go Steelers)
Good night, God Bless
Friday, February 4, 2011
Day 34...A day at Bouce
We spent most of the day rummage saleing. Lunch and more rummaging. Had a good time.
It was Gin, Verona, Cliff, Mel & I. We found all kinds of good stuff. Molly even found a little house like she sleeps in under my desk at home. Molly and Mel got the most stuff. I got a cactus, phone book, some kitchen utensils.
We went to the Renaissance for a while. There wasn't many vendors there though.
Mel enjoyed it and might be going back tomorrow to watch them shoot black powder guns.
Back at home Verona and Ginny made a delicious beef stew supper with pie for desert. Sure was good.
I think I am ready for bed. Almost anyway. 6:30 is just to early for me to get up.
Good night & God Bless.
Thursday, February 3, 2011
Day 33....no LP
We all went to the music jam in Brenda Park this evening. Ginny, Verona, Cliff, Mel, & I. But when we got home we found that we were out of LP. Kind of chilly in here. Can't get them filled until tomorrow. So I got out the elec. blanket. I am going to climb in real soon.
Our lumber and paneling and insulation came today. I have most everything out of the room. We won't be working on it though until Monday. The guys can put the insulation up while I put linseed oil on the ceiling boards. I sure can't wait for it to be done. Still unsure what we want for the flooring. I want carpet and Mel wants laminate. What do you think?
We are leaving at 8 in the morning to go to the Renaissance. I sure hope it warms up tomorrow. It has been cold enough here to almost freeze the water lines. Molly's water dish on the deck had ice in it. It is 31 here right now so another frosty night. And no LP.... :-(
So good night. God Bless.
Wednesday, February 2, 2011
Day 32...even colder -- and windier
Verona and Cliff Prigge and Virginia Herrick.
...................................................
I have been complaining about our weather all day but after seeing what the rest of the country is getting I better quit. It froze last night. 27 when I got up. I carried the plants in last night. It did get up to 44 today but the wind was really bad. I thought I would look out of place if I wore my heavy winter coat but I seen several out with big coats. There is frost warnings for tonight again.
Our friends came over for a visit this afternoon. Then invited us over for supper. They had a delicious chicken hotdish, salads, bread, and a cream cheese desert. I hope to make the hotdish sometime.
Our lumber will come tomorrow afternoon. then it is time for work. The part for our heater didn't come in so I have to call them again tomorrow. It is cold in this room so I hope the insulation goes in fast. I am sitting here with my jacket on.
No plans for tomorrow other than wait for the lumber truck. Maybe a music jam tomorrow night.
Mels sister Renee's birthday tomorrow. Happy Birthday, sis.
Good night. God Bless

Day 31.... brrrrrrrr... cold.
My friends from home, Ginny Herrick & Verona and Cliff Prigge, came to spend 2 weeks in our park. Ginny and Verona are twin sisters. We have been friends since grade school. We gave them a little tour of our area and spent a little time in Quartzsite. Had pizza at Silly Al's. Then back to Desert Gold park to the Gospel Jam. It was a great day.
Our lumber is suppose to come tomorrow but I am going to try to have it delayed for a couple of days. It is so very windy and no way could I put a finish on the ceiling boards outside without getting dust all over them. It is suppose to be back to the 70's this weekend so it will be a good time. Well maybe not. It will have to be Monday. We will be at other activities this weekend. A black powder Renascence (did I spell it right??), a car show, a craft show, and a race. Fun, eh?
Good night hugs & God Bless
