I have no signal tonight. NONE... The pictures won't transfer so I guess I will have to do that tomorrow. Sorry !
------------------------------------
Good evening,
I guess I will have to learn to cook on the grill. Well, maybe not. I think that should be Mel's job. After all, it is his grill. ;-)
We bought some chicken quarters a while ago packaged for frying chicken. Did one package and the chicken was so tough. I guess we got what we paid for. We thought it was a good deal at the time. The second (yes we bought more than one) has been in the freezer just taking up space. Today I decided to make soup with it. I called it stone soup because I didn't have noodles or anything. It ended up pretty good. I used macaroni and lots of other things I had in the cupboard.
For supper we had speghetti at the club house. It was so good.
Our neighbor kept Molly for a half hour just to see how it worked out. She is going to watch her Sunday when we go to Phoenix Nascar races. She got along just fine. Tomorrow I am going to puppysit her tiny little poodle.
nite nite hugs and Gods Blessings.

Day 57.. A ride, dinner, & a Jam
Gospel music jam in Desert Gold RV park.
------------------------------------------------------
Hello everyone,
We spent the afternoon with friends Kermit and Alice. They are from Northern Minnesota. Alice used to live in Park Rapids. I think she still has family there.
We rode around Blythe CA. Shopped in K Mart, Ace hardware, and a thrift shop. We rode up to Hidden Beaches camp ground where we spent one season. It is right on the Colorado river. Then went to a produce place. We got some oranges and onions.
We had supper at Sizzlers buffet and ate to much. Oh, but it was so good.
Got back in time to go to the Gospel Jam at Desert Gold. We sat on the wrong side though and the sound wasn't as good. Probably should have moved. But the jam was good as usual. There were 20 singers. I didn't count the musicians.
Home again... Molly was so happy to see us.
Just wait until I show you what I got today. Pictures tomorrow.
Good night and God Bless

Day 56... What a race!!
The race car hit the dryer truck that was filled with jet fuel...
They cleaned it all up...
Two hours later the race was on...Only 40 laps left..
Matt Kenseth was the winner.
It was quit the race. It got rained out yesterday. First time in the track history. It was suppose to start at noon today but it was still raining. Finally got going tonight. There was lots of wrecks and then the big fire. that took 2 hrs to clean up. Awesome race.
The rest of the day was pretty quiet. Visited a couple of neighbors. Mel made some more jerky. I made cornbeef and cabbage for supper.
Oh, Mel got the shelves hung. Love it.
Good night and God Bless

Day 55... Race rained out !
The daisys are blooming all over except in our yard. :-(
This day was long. We waited most of the day for the race to start. It was suppose to start at 10 (AZ time). But rain rain rain...Still no race by 1:00 so went to the jam. By break time we heard the dryers were on the track so we went home. Still no race. They almost had it dry enough and it started raining again with no let up in sight. For the First time in the history of the track the Daytona 500 was postponed. Tomorrow is the day. It better not rain!!!
We went out for supper at the Kofa restaurant. then to the second half of the Jam at Black Rock. It was so good. Both the jam and the supper.
I think it will be an early bed time tonight.
Good night hugs and God's Blessings
Day 54...Racing and dancing
Hello,
Sorry no pictures today. Was home most of the day. Watched the Nationwide race and then went to the store for a few things. Mostly needed a snack to take to the sock hop. It is like a potluck snack table.
I made spaghetti for supper.
My computer is really sluggish today. Takes forever to go from one thing to another and the printer doesn't want to connect on some sites but works on others.
I hope tomorrow is better.
Tonight we had another sock hop at the club house. Some of the folks can really dance. Nobody in our group dances so we just listened to the music.
Tomorrow is the Daytona 500 race. yaaaaaaa.... No other plans.
So good night and God Bless

Day 53...A day in Yuma
My favorite flower...Bougainvillea
Wild donkeys.. Aren't they cute?
Hello everyone.
Looks like it is kind of cold there. Sorry! It was 81 here. :-)
We left for Yuma at 7:30 this morning. Cliff, Verona, & Ginny too. It was a long day but I sure enjoyed it.
We stopped at Sweet Darlene's restaurant in Quartzsite for breakfest. We spent most of our time in Yuma at the Market place. A huge flea market. I got some artificial flowers for my flower pots. I dare the rabbits to eat those!! The guys got board long before us girls did. ha!! Just fun looking.
We had supper at the Golden Coral. Long time friends, Pat and Leroy met us there. They winter in Yuma but home is in Minnesota. We met them the first year we came to AZ and camped in AZ City.
On the way home we had to stop and visit the donkeys. They started to walk away until I called them and then they all turned and looked at me. I wonder what they were thinking. The others also seen a coyote but I missed that one.
Another race to watch tomorrow. The Nationwide... Danica got pole!!!!
Good night hugs & Gods Blessings

Day 52...race day
What we seen as we traveled to the Brenda Gospel Jam
Mel's favorite shopping place.. K & B Tool
-----------------------------------------------------
Hello, Other than the races, today wasn't a good day!! We were suppose to get our place washed, the roof cleaned, and resurface. When the guy got the roof cleaned off he found some soft spots. Our roof is rotting. Now have to find someone to fix it. One guy is coming when he has time (grrrrrr) another is coming on Monday to give us estimates.
I wonder how much this will cost. Russ and Trey, come and build us a roof!!!
We had the Speed channel on all afternoon. Great to have Nascar on again. The 2 races were good. They determined the places the drivers get on Sunday for the Daytona 500.
I had chicken, baked potato and squash for supper. Then off to the Gospel Jam.
We watched the beautiful sunset all the way there.
Going to Yuma tomorrow. Market place and Date shakes, here we come. Maybe have lunch with some friends who winter there. Verona, Cliff, & Gin is going with us.
Good night all, God Bless.

I hear there is some snow around. I hope it don't last.
It was an awesome day for weather here. 77 degrees. Perfect for sitting on the deck and reading.
Went to Soup supper at the Club house. We had "Crossing the Delaware" soup. Have you ever heard of it? macaroni, sausage, tomatoes, green beans, black olives, and I don't know what else but it sure was good. (Mel got my tomatoes)
Later we visited Verona, Cliff, & Ginny. Sat on their new deck.
We are getting our roof resealed tomorrow. The Daytona Duels race tomorrow afternoon.

Day 51...Molly's hair cut
Isn't she perrrty?
This is about 1/8 of Gem World. One of my favorite places in Quartzsite
Hi everyone,
About 35 of the women of Wagon west enjoyed lunch at Black Rock cafe. They served a buffet of fish, chicken fried steak, chicken breast, several breads and buns, lettuce, tomatoes, salads, and cookies. Mel and Molly had to stay home...eveyone say "ahhhhhhhhh". ;-)
Molly got her hair cut and bath this afternoon in Quartzsite. Mel and I just road around while Molly got all pretty. After we picked her up we had supper and then on home but stopped for the Gospel Jam in Desert Gold Park.
Tomorrow is going to be the gulf cart races.. should be fun to watch. I wish we had a cart.
Nice out today but still not as warm as I would like it.
Hugs and Gods Blessings

Day 50...bead day
The Palo Verde tree accross the road ... my garden on the side of our house ... front of garden ... My "big" ring collection. (better known as Brad rings!)
---------------------------------------------------
Hello,
We spent most of the day in Quartzsite looking for beads. Mel shopped the tool places.
We had lunch at the senior center. There was a man and wife team singing to us while we ate. He even sang Elvis's "Loving you". He even did a pretty good job.
Not much else today. Visited with some neighbors, checked out Prigges new deck. The roof went on today. Made meat loaf for supper.
Good night hugs and God's Blessings to you.

Day 49... Dinner with friends
Supper at Kofa with newly met Park friends.... Mel's yard sale find, a Minneapolis Moline tractor and a peddle car.... Mel and I at the Valentines dance.
-------------------------------------------
Hi there,
How was your Sunday? I hope the weather is still nice. Not bad here either. I wish it was warmer here but not bad.
We didn't go to clubhouse breakfast this morning but did go to church. Our Pastor was ill today so had a lay person and lots of music.
Verona and Cliff treated us with a wonderful lunch of baked chicken with dressing and a fruit salad with strawberry cheese cake for desert. It was sooooo good. I got to make that chicken sometime. Thanks Verona!!!
The Wagon West music jam this afternoon. Then we got invited to go to the Kofa restaurant with a bunch. We knew one couple but the other 3 we weren't acquainted with. It was nice.
It was Jens birthday yesterday. I hope you had a good day Jen.
Good night and God Bless

Day 48...To Phoenix
Pretty sound wall in Phoenix -- Alfalfa bales, harvested every month -- more pretty mountains -- One of the cattle barns about 12 miles from here.
Hello
It was an early morning trip to Phoenix. Another friend from our park went too.
Berry is from Buffalo NY. We went to a gun show. Wasn't any big deal. I did find some more rings. :-) Oh yes, there was even jewelry at the gun show. Seen it all by noon and left for lunch. Couldn't believe that there was no restaurants or fast food for blocks and blocks. Usually you see one every where. Mickey Dee's was the first place we seen. A Big Mack and a ice cream cone and all was well again.
We just looked around that part of town for a while then headed for home.
We thought the NASCAR race was starting at 3 but it was 6 (AZ time). The wrong car won the race but it was a good one. I can't find the schedule of the rest of Daytona week so if anyone can give me the times...thank you. It isn't posted online.
Poor Molly had to stay home all day. Our neighbor planned to come and let her out but when Betty came in Molly hid. Betty got her husband and Molly run under the bed. So they got Bev from next door with her little poodle, who Molly usually likes but that didn't work either. What a little stinker!!!
Bed time so good night and God Bless
Day 47...fish night
Hi there,
How was your Friday? It was a quiet morning. I did some laundry and swept the floor. Guess what we had for lunch??? Yup, bean soup! It was even better today.
We went for a ride this afternoon and visited a couple of yard sales. Mel bought some tools and some die cast toys... (pictures tomorrow)
We went with some Northern Minnesota friends (Alice & Kermit)to Dos Amigo's fish fry.
So good as always. We came back to our place and played some cards. A fun evening.
We are going to Phoenix early tomorrow so I better get to bed.
Good night hugs & Gods Blessings

Day 46...soup anyone?
Molly needs another bath and a hair cut!!! Next Tuesday it will be done. I don't know why the picture is sideways. It isn't in the album that way & I can't turn it.!
Hello, How was your day?
It was really nice here today. 68 to 70 degrees. Nice sunshine and no wind.
I started the bean soup this morning and it cooked all day. Turned out pretty good I thought. Ginny, Verona & Cliff came for supper.
There is plenty left over so come on over.
After supper we all went to the Brenda Gospel jam. When we got there only 2 guys were performing. We looked at each other and wondered if we should stay or not.
Where is everyone?? Found out that because of a musical play at the park across the street a Brenda jam wasn't planned. We sat down anyway. The 2 playing were pretty good. Then the door opened and a couple more came. An accordion and another guitar.
Then another heard the music so came in to play. Soon there was 9 plus a couple of singers from the audience. And a great job they did.
At home again. I put the left over soup in the frig. Mel had to have a bowl full first. Guess what we will have for dinner tomorrow??????
Good night hugs and God Bless

Day 45...cold , windy, cloudy
Dark clouds over Wagon West but notice the rainbow in the north.
The hand carved picture in our club house.
Ginny Herrick & Verona and Cliff Prigge...my class mates and friends from home.
--------------------------------------------
A pretty quiet day. I did some laundry and that about it. I read, watched TV, worked the computer.
Mel got the stomach bug and had a pretty rough night. He slept most of the day.
He felt good enough tonight to go to the soup supper. But he didn't eat much of the noodle soup.
It sure was a chilly day. Only a few rain drops. I thought sure it would be a heavy rain as dark as the clouds were.
I have beans soaking for the soup I will make tomorrow. Had the ham bone from the ham I won at Dexter's bingo in the freezer. I hope it will be good. It has been a long time since I made bean soup.
Good night and God Bless
Day 44... Happy Valentines Day !!
Pictures... Mel, Treats at the Valentine Dance, The road to Parker, shadows on the mountains by our park.
-------------------------------------------------
Hello, I hope everyone had a great Loving day.
We were in Parker most of the day. Looking around and finally getting groceries.
Parker is 49 miles north of here. Not a big town but lots of grocery stores, banks and hardware, restaurants & Walmart. Other stores too. A casino not to far away but we haven't been there.
It was another cool day. Had a few rain drops but nothing much. The clouds were so heavy with dark bottoms, I thought sure it was going to rain hard. The mountains were pretty with the shadows the dark clouds made.
Home again and put all the groceries away. It was getting late and I still had supper to make and a treat to take to the dance.
I decided on deviled eggs. I haven't made them in years so wasn't sure if I should or not but they turned out pretty good.
The band was pretty good and the food table was full. We sat right next to the food and that was a mistake. To easy to get refills.
The band actually played until 10 this year. Better than last years 9:00 ending.
Good night and God Bless
Valentine hugs to all.

Day 43.. Hair cut day
This is one of the distant mountains on the way to Quartzsite. This was taken a couple of weeks ago and many more of the yellow flowers along the road are blooming now. I think they are called Brittle Bush. I call them yellow daisys.. ;-)
----------------------------------------
Hi there,
It is cooler out this week. 60's and cloudy. Looks like rain but doubt we will get any here.
I got my hair cut this morning and I think I like it. Maybe I will have Mel take my picture tomorrow... maybe!
This afternoon I did laundry, put a beef roast in the crock pot, and paid bills.
I planned hot beef sandwiches but was out of bread. Mel said he would go and get some. Well, he came back with a lot of things but no bread. ha!! Verona sent some over. Thank you. We are going to get get groceries in Parker tomorrow.
Happy Valentines Day to you all.
May you have a loving and Blessed day.

Day 42...crazy computer !!!
Here we are...... !!!
Hello,
This computer just don't want to work right tonight. I hope I can keep it going long enough to send this post.
This morning it was breakfast at the club house. Biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs. Church and then to the Kofa for lunch. Music jam at the club house this afternoon.
We kept forgetting to get gas and we were down to 27 miles left on the tank. So drove very slowly to the truck stop, maybe 18 miles away. We made it.
Home for supper and then off to another jam at Black Rock.
I am so ready to stay home for a day or two.
Tomorrow I get a hair cut.. No other plans...so far.
So good night & God Bless
