Day 35...More rain

We had another rainy night and morning.   Big black clouds all afternoon.  I think more coming tomorrow.     Temps were in the 60"s I think.

We spent some time in Quartzsite.  I bought some things to make earrings.  That's all.   But had a good walk.

Sure can tell the wet weather.   My hip was hurting a bit today.   Feels better tonight.   Maybe I will be a weather person.

Came home for a while then went to the fish supper.   Just the 2 of us went this time.   Then Mel forgot his hearing aids so it was a pretty quiet meal.   :-)

Tonight was Darts.   I didn't do so well this time other than the cause of 2 wins getting the final points.   My team won 2 out of 4 and Mel's team got 3 of the 4.    My high was 57.  (I got 106 last Monday)

Going to Parker tomorrow.   Stay tuned.

Good night and God Bless
Hugs...

Day 34...Company

We had company today.   Dennis A from Cannon Falls.    All our friends had lunch together at
the sandwich shop - The Buckaroo.  Sue, Audrey, AG, Dave, Denny, Mel, & Woody

Hi everyone,

A nice day about 68 degrees.    It sprinkled a bit tonight.   Suppose to get more rain tomorrow.  We sure have lots of rain this year.    Waiting for 80 and sunshine.   I guess I shouldn't complain as it has been pretty nice most days.

Sue went with me to Quartzsite so I could get my hair cut.   I do like the cut.   pretty short.

Pretty bad picture as I only have my old little cell phone & the bathroom mirror to use.  This phone isn't made for selfes....

We were going to do some shopping but then heard the guys were going out to lunch so we hurried home to meet them.   Wanted to see Denny anyway.     Home again and had a nice visit on the deck.

Mel and I had chicken on the grill before we headed to the Brenda Gospel Jam.   There wasn't many there tonight as there was a big dinner theater happening at Desert Gold.   The Jam was still good.

That's about it...

Good night & God Bless

Day 33...Getting a cold

Wed, Jan 28

Hi,   Another beautiful day in Brenda.    I think the temp was a high 60.  I will have to remember to check the temp more often.

I went to a beading class about making watch bands.   Kind of fun.

The afternoon was spent sneezing and blowing my nose.     I did get some laundry done.   Nice clean sheets to sleep in tonight.   Mel cleaned the deck and vacuumed up the mess left from cleaning the rain gutter yesterday.

It was soup night at the club house.   They served ham and bean soup.   It was pretty good.  We brought salads along to go with it.

Tonight Sue, Verona, & I played Train domino's at the clubhouse.   I wanted to learn the game but they play what they call Senior Citizens rules.   So maybe I still won't be able to play with others who have different rules.    The dominos had numbers instead of dots so it was easy to match where they should go.  We played until after nine.   It was fun though.

I am getting a hair cut tomorrow.   yaaaaa

Good night and God Bless,
Hugs

PS....  My itchy spots are getting better.

Day 32...Golf cart races

We started our day with watching the golf cart races.    Lots of fun.   First was a 2 man in a timed cart race.   Then 2 gals and a man and lady.  It was a marked track with white paint lined with water filled gal. jugs.   First stop was to rescue a baby from a tiger.  (a doll laying with a stuffed tiger)   Hurry to the half way line.   Driver gets out and gives Tarzan yell and gets in passenger side.  Other person drives.  Then give the lion food.  Had to toss a stuffed monkey on the table with the lion.   Monkey had to stay on the table.  Then hurry to the finish line.
The funniest was the last race.   The driver is blind folded.   Had to get around track with the direction of the passenger without running over any jugs.   Some could stay on course but most drove all over the place.   The funniest was hearing the one giving direction.  Sure helped to know left from right.   haha...

Home for lunch.   Mel barrowed a hose and cleaned out the rain gutters.    Had a couple of leaks yesterday from the rain.   We have a pine tree beside the house and the gutter was full of needles.

Taco Tuesday.   Dos Amigo's for supper.  The Wilsons and Prigges were with us.

Stopped back home to get my jacket.  Evenings are still pretty cool.  On to Desert Gold to the awesome Gospel Jam.

Cloudy and cool this morning with water puddles around.  It was so nice this afternoon.  Didn't even look at the temp but guessing 65 or so.

Beading in the morning...

Good night & God Bless
Hugs.

Day 31...Rain Rain Rain.....

Hi everyone...

I have been wanting to stay home a day and today I got my wish.   Only because it has been raining all day.   Maybe a half hour brake a few times.   It rained like this a couple of years ago and the desert flooded.   Looked like lakes on both sides of the road.    The ground is so hard with sand and rock and there is no place for the rain to sink in.   Kind of cool but still hope it stops real soon.

I got some cleaning done this morning.   Mel and Woody was shopping for something to put up a TV antenna.   We  had a simple soup lunch and that's about it.

I tried a new recipe for supper and it was pretty good.   Cabbage and hamburger on top of crescent roll dough.  with mozzarella cheese.

I played darts tonight.   My team won 2 of 4.    I hit a 106 in one shot.   I wish I could aim.   I mostly just toss the dart and hope for the best....

Tomorrow will be a fun day.   It is going to be the golf cart races.   No,  we didn't enter.

My bites are still itching....Big red bumps as big as a silver dollar.  4 of them.

The East coast storm sounds pretty bad.   I hope my friends and family out there all stay safe.

I better get to bed...

Good night,  God Bless

Day 30...beautiful day

Sunday...

Hello,

Geepers,  30 days here already.  Time is sure going by fast.   I guess it pays to keep busy.
It was in the 70's today.   Really nice out.

Church was fun.   Pastor Rick is so funny and gives a good message.

We had lunch at the Buckaroo's sandwich shop.  Love their French Dips...

Home for a while and then went to the music jam at our park.   Sat with the Wilsons and Priggies.
It wasn't much of a jam.   Only 8 musicians and not to many more in the audience.   But it was good anyway.  Lunch was really good.   I only had one small piece of cherry cake & coffee.

Wilsons came to the house and we had a great visit.  Then we made the mistake of going to Black Rock for supper.   Every time we go there we say never again but we seem to go back.   I just had a fish sandwich but the other 3 had chicken.   The chicken was so bad.   Very small pieces.   the leg was as big as Mels thumb.  And it was fried to a crisp.   The wish bone wasn't even 2 in. long.

So many sick all around us.  I hope it doesn't come to our house.

I got 3 strange spots like huge mosquito bites.   I have no idea what caused it.   Maybe a spider bite.
I have never seen any spiders here so wondering what caused them.   They itch like crazy.

That's about it.   We have no plans for tomorrow.    I hope you all had a good weekend.

Good night and God Bless

Day 29...Nice day

Hello

We had a quiet morning.   Just breakfast and on the computer.   It was kind of cool again.

Had some noodle soup for lunch then went to a music jam that we hadn't been to before.
It was at Desert Gold park.  They sang all kinds of music.  It was good but I still like the Gospel Jams the best.

Stopped over to Sue and Elwoods for a few min then home again.

We left Molly home this afternoon as it would be to hot in the car.   She was looking out the window when we got home.  Her cute little face looking between the curtains...

I finally got my flowers planted.   I even put some on the golf cart.  :-)   Our neighbor stopped by and visited a while so it was dark by the time I got them watered.  I hope to take a picture tomorrow.

Almost bed time.
Good night, God Bless
Hugs

Day 28...Feels so good to walk.

Hi there,

Still a bit cool but better than yesterday.    It got down to 32 last night.   No wonder the blankets felt so good.

We went for a little ride this afternoon.  Found a couple of "junk" places to walk threw.   I even found some beads.  :-)     On the way back we stopped at the auction tent and got some cough drops.   It is kind of a weird auction and they mostly have unneeded things.   But still kind of fun .

Fish and chips for supper at Dos Amigo's.   Always so good.   They start us with the chips and salsa then serve 3 pieces of cod and fries.   Golly,   Last year I could eat 5 or 6 pieces but really get full now on the 3 pieces.  good eh?

Tonight was darts...   My team won 3 out of 4.   Mel and I got new darts but the ends where the feather thing goes was broke.  But I made it work for tonight and when we get back to Blythe they are going back to the store.

I am so happy to be able to walk again without pain.   Walking around for shopping and tonight I walked to the clubhouse and back.  That is maybe a block and a half or a couple of blocks.
Prayers were answered.

So good night,   God Bless

Hugs...

Day 27...Stayed home

Hello my friends,

Yes,   we stayed home all day.   Mel did go to the produce tent and then to coffee but that's all.

I did some laundry then made chicken noodle soup.    Busy day, eh?

I bought a little table yesterday when we were in Blythe.   I can now set up my beads so I can see what I have.   Hopefully I can get some jewelry  made.   I hope to get to the gem store too.   I might find something special.

It was cool and windy today.   It was a good day for the soup.

Good night, God Bless,  Hugs

Day 26...Shopping

  1.  One of the beautiful sunsets we see here...
 2. Breakfast with Elvis at a Burger King.  (on our trip here)

Good evening,

Another nice day here.    We went to Blythe, CA to do some shopping.

We stopped at the camp ground in Ehrenburg to visit and have breakfast with AG & Audrey.
They cook breakfast at the camp ground clubhouse.   I had a fresh out of the oven biscuit and gravy.

We checked out K Mart and got a few things...No cloths though.     Then the most fun was at the flower shop.  I got some beauties.   I will get a picture after I get them planted.   And finally the grocery store  That was ok too until we got the bill.

We got a nice phone call from Terri but the signal  wasn't good enough to be able to talk.   Tom also called today.   So good to hear from them.   Usually we just text each other.

We wanted to stop back at Wilsons but got to late.   Our park supper was at 5 so had to hurry home.
We had a baked potato buffet.   It was pretty good.   Lots of toppings for a big potato.  It wasn't to good for the calorie count.

After supper we got all the groceries put away.  Cupboards are really full again.  Frig and freezers too.  Plan to grill tomorrow.

Good night,  God Bless,  Hugs

Day 25...Go go goooo

Hi ...  It was another busy day in Brenda...  Weather was perfect.  About 74 by noon.  Didn't see what the afternoon temps were.

The ladies of our park met at a near by restaurant called Iron Horse.  50 gals in all so the talk and laughter was loud.  It was good food but the service was really slow.  We were there by 1 and didn't get served until after 2 or 2:30.  They forgot one order completely.  Verona, Sue, & Alice rode with me.

Home for a couple of hours.   It was so nice out.   just sat around with the doors open.

At 5:30 we picked up Verona & Cliff and went to Taco night at Dos Amigo's.   Love them things.
They are small but so good with their home made shells & salsa.

From there we went right to Desert Gold RV park for the best Gospel Jam yet.   There were 26 in the band and about 25 sang.   The singers were soooo good.   Lot of them in duet.  I wish I could have recorded or maybe shared via telephone.

Home by 9:30.    Us "old folks" must get home early, you know.

Tomorrow will be another busy day.  We are going to Blythe for some shopping.   We are going to get flowers too.

The rest of the story tomorrow.......   Good night, God Bless, Hugs

Day 24... Just stayed home.

Home most of the day anyway.   Went for a little ride in the golf cart.   Visited with Sue and Verona.
Made a crock pot supper.   Pork chops, potatoes, & carrots.   But I set the temp wrong so the potatoes and carrots didn't get done.

We found a place for the old wheel barrow.  Our tiny yard space doesn't allow to much.  I cleaned out the flower pots so now ready for the flowers we will get on Wed.

Tonight we went to a music jam in Hope.  About 20 min away.   Lots of musicians and lots of people there to listen.  It was good.

That's about it for the day.

Love and hugs,
God Bless

Day 23...Cancer telethon

Hello.

The day started with breakfast at the clubhouse.   We had a breakfast burrito.  It was pretty good.
Especially after we added the good salsa sauce we got from Dos Amigo's.

Turned on the Rochester Cancer Telethon that streamed on the computer.   So fun to watch something from home.   Then it was time for the big one.  :-)   Brad Boice (Elvis ETA) came on.   It was so fun to see him.  We even missed church as he was on later than we thought.  Sorry !!
Sue and Woody came to watch too.   Well, Sue did.   The guys were "trucking" in the living room.

After lunch we went to the music jam at the club house.   Sue and Woody don't have a TV so we invited them to come to our house to watch the football game.   Mel and I went to the jam but home again in time to see the famous last 10 min of the game.   Sue and Woody wanted Packers to win so it was fun just sitting back and watching their disappointment..   hehe.....

The 4 of us went to have a Mexican supper.   Wanted Verona & Cliff to go with us too but she still wasn't feeling the best.   Just home the rest of the night.

Had a beautiful sunset again.   Must have been 73 or 4 today.   I didn't even check.   Just knew it was nice out.

I forgot about our purchase.   We bought an old rusty wheelbarrow.   I planned to plant flowers in it but Mel has other ideas...  Hmmmm.   I am anxious to see what he does with it.  I will send pictures when it gets done.   I cleaned up my garden yesterday so now to get some plants to color it up.   Just cactus in there now.

Believe it or not we have no plans for tomorrow.   Maybe I can stay home for a change.

I hope everyone is feeling good.

Love and hugs........God Bless.

Day 22...Root beer floats

Hi everyone.

I bet it was good to have a bit of warmer weather.   It was great here too.  72 I think.

I did a couple loads of laundry.   I still feel so Blessed to have my own washer and dryer.  I think I might be the only one in the park other than the big RV's here.

We went to Brenda RV park to check out a craft show.   Didn't buy anything but got some ideas on how to display.  Seen a nice case to show earrings.   We also had a cheeseburger and root beer float at the park.

Drive to the grocery store for milk and realized I forgot my purse at the craft sale.  Back we go and it was still hanging on the chair.

A quick stop at home and on to the tent auction down the road from us.   They offer lots of stuff but it
has very little of value.  I did buy a metal red flower with a rock humming bird on it.  Pretty cute.

After supper Alice and I went to a movie at Desert Gold RV park.  "God is Not Dead" was a good show.  They even had popcorn.

That was our day.   I am watching the Cancer Telethon on the computer.   But I think I will shutting down soon.

See you in church...
Hugs

Day 21...Fun day

Friday Jan 16

Howdy everyone,

This morning was pretty quiet.     I mostly was on the computer.   I baked a loaf of bread.
(We really got hooked on the fresh bread made out of frozen bread dough.)
We had the left over beef noodle soup I made a couple days ago..along with the fresh bread.

After lunch Woody, Mel, & I went to the gun range in Bouse to do a little target practice.  We do enjoy that.   I got so close to the bulls eye many times but never quit got in there.

We got back home in time to clean up a bit and then meet AG & Audrey at Dos Amigo's for Friday fish.  MMM    just so good.  Both the food and the company.

Home again but not for long.   Off to the club house for some darts.   My team won 3 out of 4.   I think Mel's team got 2 out of 4.   More fun for us.  Witters played too.  It was Sue's team that beat us the last game.

Weather is wonderful.   I think it was over 70 today.

My back and hip is doing so well.   I can walk with no pain at all.  I don't know why it got better all of a sudden after suffering for 10 months. But I am so thankful.    I kind of feel a twinge after I walk to much but nothing bad.  Mel thinks my weight loss did it.   But it has to be more than that.

Good night and God Bless

Day 20...Jan 14

Hello everyone,
I can't believe we have been here 20 days already.  The weather if finally warming up to AZ standards.    It is suppose to be in the 70's next week.

I will try to remember what we did since we left so this might get long.

We left home on Dec 24th.  It really felt different to be on the road during Christmas.   But we had our family Christmas at Tom and Gretchen's on the 21st.  Almost all the family had to work on Christmas so we decided to just hit the road.

We stopped in Des Moines and had dinner with Bob, Terri, & Amanda.   Aidan was skate boarding.  We had such a nice visit.

My memory fails so can't remember much of the happenings on the trip.  Just happy that all went well.   We did get into a bit of a snow storm in NM but my personal professional driver got us threw it.  ;-)

We arrived at Wagon West RV Park about 4 and found our house in good order.   I bit dusty is all.
Mel tackled the deck.   We had it covered with a tarp so Mel just rolled it up and shuck it out in the road.  Vacuumed and went about getting chairs and tables set out.   Now we can walk in the house.

Friday fish at Dos Amigo's and was it good.   I did miss that.   No other close friends here yet so we went alone.

Pretty much spent the weekend just unpacking and getting stuff put away.

Priggies got back from taking family to the airport on Sunday.   It was good to see them.   They got here early in Dec.    Alice and Kermit arrived that Tuesday.   Witters came a week later.

It was pretty cool the first couple of weeks here.   It froze 3 nights in a row and we even had snow.
What a shock to wake up to a white ground.   I has been mostly in the 40's during the day until this week.   It was 69 today.   Sooooo nice.   We could even leave the doors open.

We have mostly went to music jams.   Lunchs with Wilsons or Witters,   A couple of trips shopping at Quartzsite.   And this week the girls and I have been to 2 Elvis shows.  ETA Michael Cullipher is from OK and works at Graceland in Memphis.   He is really good but just can't beat Brad.

Tonight we met Wilsons at the Gospel jam in Brenda.   It was really a fun session.

I might not be writing every day like I did last year but will as often as I can.   I forgot my camera at home so only have my little cell phone for pictures.

See you tomorrow.   God Bless

Hugs
