Day 99...Flowers gone

Hello,

Got more packed and in the car.   Most of the little deck stuff taken in.   Move chairs in tomorrow.
Mel emptied and cleaned the little frig we have on the deck.

I delivered my flowers to two different places.  No more watering...

The garbage bins in the park were so full.  Couldn't get another thing in any of them.   The truck finally came this afternoon.   Many were holding back their garbage so as soon as the truck left everyone brought their stuff and the bin is half full already.

I went with Dianna to Quartzsite Hardys jewelry and bead shop this morning.  She had made such beautiful stone necklaces and needed chains for them.   I ONLY bought a couple beads..;-)

Tonight Bob & Dianna (neighbors) went with us to Ehrenburg to have BBQ ribs.   They were soooo good.  Dianna needs a knee replacement and she has been so sore.    Surgery for her when they get home to Oregon.

2 more nights and we are gone...

Good night hugs
God Bless.

Day 98...Taco's & darts

Hi there,

Guess tomorrow we will be down to the final 2 days here.   Mel got a few more things in the car.
We took our last  ride in the gulf cart.   Will be parked and covered tomorrow.

I got a cactus pad from a neighbor.   It blooms a deep pink.   Planted one here and taking one home.

Another neighbor also gave me a cactus.  this blooms a huge white flower.
Probably won't get as big in MN

I washed a load of cloths.   should only need to do one more before we go.

I heard that 2 of our friends were caught in snow storms.  One going threw Colorado.  Not sure where the other couple were but they were in that area.

Went to Dos Amigo's for taco's and said our good byes there.  Darts tonight and more good byes.

The next two days will be busy so better get some sleep

Good night hugs
God Bless

Day 97....Very Windy

good Evening,

It was so windy today that we hardly went outside. Can't even see the mountains for dust.  I did pickup a few more ornaments.  Will put them all in this room as soon as Mel puts what I have on the bed in the car.

I made the rest of the donuts this morning.   This afternoon I made an apple pie.  I made the pie the easy way.   I used ready made pie crust and cans of apples.   Didn't turn out to bad.   The pie crust had been in the fridge for a coupe of weeks so was hard to work with.    Just working on emptying the fridge.  Had some pork chops for lunch.   Not much left.  Wiill clean the fridges out on Wed. so they dry out good.

Will do final laundry on Thursday and a good house cleaning.

Been eating bean soup for a while and was sick of it so went to the sandwich shop for supper.

Tomorrow night is taco's and Wed we are going with neighbors, Dianna and Bob for  BBQ ribs.

Only 4 sleeps left and we are on our way home.    Going to meet Nephew Shannon at noon on Friday.
More friends left today.   Sure quiet around here.

Tired tonight so going to bed early.

Good night hugs
Gods Blessings.

Still no pictures.....   sorry.

Day 96...He is Risin. Hallelujah !

Happy Easter everyone,

We had such a nice day.  But sure missed family.

Church this morning.  Still a lot of people here for service but many many leaving tomorrow.   It is our last service here for the season.

For our Easter dinner 8 of us went to a restaurant in Quartzsite called Stagecoach.   It was a good ham dinner with cake for desert.

At home again.   Alice and Kermit came to say good bye.     About 4 we were invited to a neighbors down the street for a little gathering.   Lots of visiting and good byes said.   Later Sue and Woody stopped in to say good bye.    Both leaving early tomorrow.    Then all our Minnesota friends will be gone.

Guess we will have plenty of time to pack now.   No more music jams, clubhouse doings or friends stopping in.   Our next door neighbor, Dianna and Bob will be here until Wed.    Still will be going to Tacos. :-)

We had soup for supper and a ice cream cone for a bedtime snack.

I had pictures but again my cell phone camera won't send.   Pretty low signal tonight.  I don't know if that would do it or not.

Leaving in 5 days....

Good night hugs
God Bless

Tonight I made some donuts.  My moms recipe :-)

Tomorrow is Easter Sunday.   May you all have a Blessed day,  hopefully with family and friends.

Good night hugs

Day 94...Good Friday

Happy Easter Weekend,

It was a nice day.   About 85 and no wind.

Visited the neighbor, Diana, for a while.   Soon Sue stopped in and then Chari too.  Nice visit

After lunch we went to Quartzsite to get a few groceries.   Don't need much any more but was out of bread and milk.

Had our last fish supper at Dos Amigo's.   I sure will miss that.   Filled the car with gas and home again.

Played darts tonight.   I did pretty good.   got an 80, a 76, some 5o's and 40's.  and even a couple of 20s.  I even got a bulls eye but didn't count.  Didn't need that many points.  Maybe only one more night of darts.

Just think.....a week from today we will be leaving.   Stopping in to see nephew Shannon then head for home.   I am so ready to be home.
Half the park had left for home already.   Many more going on Monday and more the rest of the week.

Good night hugs
God Bless

Day 93...Maundy Thursday

Hello,

Our friends Cliff and Verona Prigge are heading home to Rochester in the morning.  I am going to miss them.  We didn't get a chance to see them today.   But sending hugs and prayers for a safe and fun trip home.  See you soon.   Looking forward to your messages along your trip.

We picked up a bit more today.   Lawn ornaments mostly.  Mel helped Woody take his antenna down.  We ate ice cream on the deck. Did some bookwork.  Washed cloths.  Had pork steak for supper.   That's about all for the day.

I went to bingo tonight but of course didn't win a thing.

Bed time...

Good night hugs

Day 92... Cooler day

Hello,

Very cool...almost cold tonight.   The house didn't heat up today so feels much cooler tonight.  Will sleep good.  It was a windy 70 this afternoon.

We started packing today.   I hate that job.  But then I do like packing better than unpacking.  ; )
I always wonder why I take so much.   I suppose next year I will do the same thing.

Sue stopped over and then we took a couple things over to their house.  I had a tub of hers here.

After lunch I went to Quartzsite and Molly got her bath and hair cut.   She is so soft now.
She don't like her picture taken and will turn her head away from me when I aim the camera at her.

I went to a bead store that I hadn't been to yet this year.  Also got some glue for my broken donkey.  A few groceries needed then picked up Molly again.

Made a meatloaf for supper.  The freezer is getting pretty empty.

Did the snow storm happen at home?  I hope the roads are ok for going to work.

Verona & Cliff stopped in for a min.     Sue came over to watch Survivor as it doesn't come on their TV.   I cleaned up supper while she watched on the little TV.

Mel just made popcorn.  m m m m mmmmm

9 days left.

Good night hugs
God Bless

Day 92...Eating out again

Hi there,
Much cooler today.  Had to really cover up this morning.   Got to about 75 today. So nice.  Weather station said a cold front moved in.   Had to chuckle.   "Cold Front"  Only going to be in the higher 70s.

We took a little drive to Desert Gold park to see if any cactus was blooming.    Didn't find much in the 2 block long cactus garden along a  road in the park.  Lots of buds though so will check again in a couple days.

Had a sandwich at the Buckaroo's.

Mel cut some bottom branches off the pine tree in our lot.  Now my garden is more visible to passers by.  Hauled the branches to a big ditch in the desert meant for branches   Used the gulf cart.  I found some nice rocks for my garden while out there.

For supper Woody and Sue,  Cliff and Verona, Mel and I went for taco's at Dos Amigo's.  Cliff and Verona is leaving on Friday so we wanted to be together one more time.

Then on to the final Gospel Jam at Desert Gold.   One of the jammers from past years , Jim Newsom,  pasted away from Cancer.  The jam was dedicated to him.   He was a wonderful singer and guitarist.   It was a great jam.

Home again.   Listened to the news a while then on the computer.

Just think,  heading home in 10 days.   I better start packing.

Pictures didn't transfer again so will add some tomorrow.

Good night hugs
God Bless

Day 91...Jam at Hope

Hello,
The wind is really happening as I write tonight.   Just went out and set the flower baskets down and a bit protected.  Another hot day.  95 degrees.   I think it is suppose to be some cooler tomorrow.  I wish there was a pool here.

Stayed in the house most of the day.   Sue came over a while to watch the news as their TV wasn't working.   Took a cart ride later and visited Verona and Cliff.

After a beef rib supper we went to the town of Hope to the music jam.  Always good there.  Just a bit farther away.   There was 40 singers tonight.

Home again and watched the news with Sue.   Had some ice cream and caught up with my emails.

I think I will start packing a few things tomorrow.

Good night hugs
God Bless

                                 Another beautiful sunset tonight....

Day 90...Palm Sunday

Hello,
Just think,   Only 12 days before we head for home.

Sunday service was so nice and included a beautiful wedding.  The bride has lived in our park and her sister lives here now.   The groom is from Quartzsite.  Brothers of the bride sang and the bride even sang to the groom.   The whole family can sing.  Brother of the bride, Robin Arnold, gave a concert here a couple of years ago.

Roger and Robin Arnold sang at wedding and reception.
Mel and I had lunch at the Buckaroo's and then home to watch the race.  My driver should have won.  But a yellow flag with 2 laps to go and my #4 lost in second place.

At 4:00 we went to the clubhouse for a reception for the bride and groom.  More music by the brothers, cake and coffee, punch.   Lots of visiting.

I had a beef roast in the crock pot for supper.  Just kind of relaxed from there.

It was so hot...93 today.

I finally got the pictures from my phone to work so will post a few .

Good night hugs
God Bless

Day 89...Block party

Howdy,

It sure warmed up today.   92 is all.

This morning Sue and I checked out the cactus around the park.   They are finally showing buds and some open blooms.   So beautiful.

This afternoon was our annual block party/water fight.  What fun.   Every one had water guns and there was either hoses or buckets of water to fill them.     Some didn't even stop at squirt guns and just dumped a whole pail of water over some ones head.   Mel & I didn't seem to get caught to many times.  I bought water guns and put them away so well I couldn't find them.  The food was plentiful too.  And a special treat was Dos Amigo's famous margaritas.

More pictures tomorrow.   I can't get them from my phone again.

I took care of our neighbors little doggie, Nickie today.   such a sweetie but a puppy so he really kept Molly busy wanting to play.

That's about it for today.   There is going to be a wedding at our church tomorrow.

Good night hugs
God Bless

Day 88,.. Yuma

Greetings,
It was only 91 today.   Uffda !

We went to Yuma today to see friends that we met the first year we came to AZ.  They were MN people then who came in the winter.   Now they are full timers in their motor home and stay in Yuma for 6 or 7 months.

We met Pat and Leroy at the AZ Markets.   A huge place with almost anything you might want. Everything except what I wanted.   ;-(     I wanted a certain kind of beads and a certain lawn ornament for a friend but found neither.

We went on to the Golden Corel for supper and a long visit.   Pat has a very bad knee so was pretty uncomfortable plus the heat.    It was so good  to see them.

Our neighbor took care of Molly but as usual when we leave her she just mopped and looked out the window or down the road.   Won't eat or go potty for them.   Only mommy can feed her or take her out side.    But she survived.    We will take care of their little Nicky tomorrow.

We got home about 7.

I forgot to mention that Elvis was at our dance last night.   He sang Jailhouse Rock.

It was one of the guys in our park.   He wiggled pretty good.

Good night hugs
God Bless

Day 87... Happy St Patty's Day

Hi everyone,

Did you wear your green today.    Seemed wrong for a Norwegian to wear green.   ha.   Neither one of us had any green to wear.    My neighbor gave me a green paper flower for my hair.

This morning we finally did some target practice.  First (and last) time this season.   Did pretty good.  Hit the target most of the time.   Went to lunch in a little restaurant in Bouse and had a terrible meal.  We ordered the special of chicken strips and they were so tough we couldn't cut with a knife.  Didn't help to complain either.    Checked on a vender selling jewelry and stone slabs.  I bought a couple for my next seasons project of learning how to cut and polish stones.

Traveled a different road to get to Quartzsite.  Was so pretty.  Always looking for not only flowers but critters.  Didn't see a one.   Sue and Woody seen a bunch of mountain sheep near our park but we didn't even see a gopher.

Got a few things for the treats at the dance and came home.

St Patricks dance or sock hop this evening.  Always fun.   Home by 10.

We are going to Yuma tomorrow to meet friends.

Good night hugs
God Bless

My camera won't cooperate so I can get the rest of the pictures of the desert.
So the hills will have to do.

Day 86..Hot - Wed.

Hello.

Just finished a nummy ice cream Drum stick...    It is getting pretty hot here.   high 80s all week.    Still is 78 at 9:30.  Sounds like a bit of snow at home.   I hope not much.   Stay safe.

I started a bit of packing this morning.   Hope to do a bit every day.  Just hard to know what we still need the next 2 weeks.

Called different restaurants to see who will be open for Easter.   6 of us plan to go together.  I think we will be going to the Stage Coach for a ham dinner.

Sue and Woody stopped in for a nice visit on the deck.   After my soap was over Mel and I went over to Verona and Cliffs to return their coffee thermos.   I used it when Terri and Bob was here.   They like full coffee and I drink decaf so made separate pots.

More folks left today. Wilsons left last Monday.   Verona and Cliff leaves on the 25th.  Sue and Woody leaving the 28th.  Neighbors leaving the 28th.   Alice and Kermit on the 28th.   We will be alone for a couple of days leaving the 1st.

We went to the final meal at the Clubhouse.  They had a baked potato buffet.  Was pretty good.
Guess I will have to cook a little more now.

Good night hugs,
God Bless.

Sorry no pictures today.

Day 85...Beads, Taco's. & Jam

Hi everyone.

Didn't do much this morning.   It was so nice out I just kind of sat out and drank coffee.   I went to Quartzsite about noon and checked out the bead shop again.   I found one kind of beads I wanted but not the other.  Also got a few I hadn't planned on.   Got eggs at the dollar store ($1.50) then a quick stop at the bakery.   Brought Mel home a goodie...

When I got home Mel had the dishes done.   nice eh?    I just watched some TV and folded some cloths.

Taco's at Dos Amigo's and then the Gospel jam at Desert Gold park.   Only 6 musicians who also sang and 2 others that sang.   Always so enjoyable no matter how few there are.

Still 70 out so I think I am going to sit on the deck a while.

Good night hugs
God Bless

Day 84... They had to go :-(

Hello,

This morning went so fast.   After showers, a walk, packing,  ham omelets, some picture taking, Terri and Bob were on their way to LA.     Hard to see them go but sure enjoyed their visit.

I didn't do much this afternoon.   Washed dishes and took a short nap.   Mel washed the car.   I cooked a cabbage for supper.

Played darts tonight.   I did great the first 3 games..   A couple of 70's, some 50s, 40s but the last game I bombed.   teens, 20s, 30s.....

That's it for the day.

Are you getting along with the time change?   AZ  doesn't change time so now MN is 2 hrs ahead of us.

We are leaving on April 1st with a stop at Mels nephew Shannon.    Should be home around the 6th or so.  I am happy.   I am so ready to be home.

Good night hugs
God Bless

Day 82 & 83...The Speirs arrived

Hello,

It sure has been a fun weekend.    Terri and Bob arrived around 5 on Sat.    I put Hobo dinners on the grill while we showed them around the park.  Took a bit longer than planned so super got a little over done but still good.  We had a good evening visit.

This morning we had a huge breakfast at the clubhouse.   They made biscuits and gravy, sausages, bacon, hash browns,  scrambled eggs, French toast, juice & coffee.   It was the last breakfast so they used up all the foods from the freezer.   On to Gods Little Church in The Desert.  In spite of so many going home there was still a full house.

We drove around to some of the other parks showing Terri and Bob  where we go to the jams and where we lived before.

Time to eat again so we went to Buckaroo's for lunch.

Home in time to enjoy the music jam at our clubhouse.   Not many musicians but still so good.

Terri and I had a fun ride into the desert with our gulf cart.   lots of blooms and rocks to find.
(pictures below)

Then guess what.... it was time to eat again.    We went to Dos Amigo's.   Mexican food hit the spot.
Last night for another one of the waitress's so had to say good bye.

When we got home Terri and Bob went for a walk and then we sat on the deck.   Sure a beautiful evening.  About 70 but cooling done now.   64 at 11:30.

Bed time now...   They leave in the morning after breakfast.

Good night hugs
God Bless

Day 81...Eat and eat and eat

Good evening,

It was a beautiful day of sunshine.  83 degrees.   Now it is really windy.  I hope it calms by morning.  Had to set my flower baskets down.

This morning I did some laundry then got ready to go to Blythe.  Our Wagon West ladies luncheon was in Blythe at the Sizzler restaurant. Blythe is about 40 miles from here.  Awesome salad bar. After lunch the 4 of us went to KMart for a while and then a stop for a few groceries.  We got home about 4:30.

I did another load of laundry and then it was time to go to Dos Amigo's for a fish supper.  I sure will miss that fish.  But after eating lunch at Sizzler I wasn't very hungry but still couldn't refuse that fish.

Home again and then went to Verona and Cliffs for a Margarita and a nice visit on their deck.  They are leaving a week before us.  They plan to go up the West side of CA...next to the ocean.  Going East again in Oregon.   What a beautiful trip that will be.   Actually Wilsons plan a similar trip and leaving on Monday.

Tomorrow Terri and Bob will be here.   Can't wait.

Good night hugs
God Bless

Day 80...craft show

Howdy,

Sue, Alice and I went to the craft show/yard sale at Desert Gold.    Didn't buy a thing.   But I got some nice advice from some jewelry venders.   Always ready to help.

I got a new stone today.   Blue Tigers Eye.   Soooo pretty.   A guy in the park had a big rock of it and said my neighbor and I could have some slices if we had it cut.    We each got 2 slices.  Sure will make some beautiful necklaces.   I took a picture of it but didn't do it justice so deleted it.

I got my phone pictures to work again.   Thank goodness.   I think I was trying to send to many pictures at once to my email.  I deleted them and now it all works.

Had to get gas again.  $1.79.   After that we just had a ride on some desert roads.   Looking for flowers but didn't find any.

We had T-bones for supper.   Been in the freezer since we got here.    Trying to use up our stuff.  Don't want to take it home.

Went to Bingo tonight and NO I didn't win a thing.  Got close though.  The Jams aren't much anymore so didn't go.

Wonderful temps.   80 today.

My boys are making a full bathroom upstairs out of a bedroom   Amazing.   I am so anxious to see it.
Trey did the plumbing.   Russ did the tile floor.  Might be close to done when we get home.  They are so talented.

Going to put a few pictures on... enjoy.

Good night hugs
God Bless
